If Gundogan doesn’t get minutes against spurs then I am sure that he will only get game time in the lower cup games.

Reijnders, Rodri, Gonzalez, Nico, Kovacic, Bernardo should be all in front of him.

He is willing to wait for a decent fee or keep these players

Lead item on Tim Vickery's South American bulletin on the midday Transfer Show was the possible move of Echeverri to Dortmund on loan with an option to buy. Vickery expressed his surprise that City were considering this move as Echeverri is regarded very highly in Argentina.

IMO City should keep him. A player like that has the capacity to change a club's season and there are very few players like that. Some players have to be sold / loaned out but ideally not Echeverri.

Does Echeverri’s departure signal that both Gundogan and Kovacic will now remain? I’m assuming, of course, that Akanji and Ederson depart.

Bit pissed with this really, had him signed up ages back, gets an great endorsement off a certain Sergio Aguero, then this happens, Christ you really have to be shit hot as a youngster to work your way into a Pep squad, but yet he insists on keeping sell by date well expired players, bizarre at times

He competes with Foden, Cherki, Reijnders (AM) and even Bobb (Pep suggested Bobb can play behind Haaland) for a starting place. It's better for Echeverri if he plays every week.

To me its quite telling that a youth player is quality when we send them away for experience but opt not to entertain loan-to-buy / sell-on clauses. I think this is more of a matter of doing what's best to ensure Echeverri has the best chance to become a world class player. He clearly won't get the minutes this season at City, so sending him to another Champions League club so he doesn't rot on the bench is likely the best move.

That’s your interpretation. Alternatively, the club may simply be unable to shift Gundogan and Kovacic, have explained the situation to him, and Echeverri now accepts that a loan is in his immediate interest.

The only responsibility we can attach to Guardiola is that he chose to give him his senior debut in an FA Cup final, ahead of Gundogan, instead of Gonzalez, Grealish, and Nunes.
