It's Quiet the £250m return

Watching the Newcastle game on Monday, we would not have been able to compete physically with them ( I know we beat them last season but it was around the time of their Carabao Cup Final)

We were also out muscled against Spurs.

A couple of years ago our vastly superior technique and ability on the ball meant that any physical inferiority didn't really matter.....although we sometimes struggled against Klopps Liverpool.

A fully fit Rodri and the inclusion of Kushanov plus a decent sized right back would go some way to solving this issue
I made the point in the Spurs post match thread that if you don’t rock up to a PL game fully fit, strong as fuck, willing to work your bollocks off and determined to fucking rock and roll, the rest of it is irrelevant, because you’re going to get fuck all.

Newcastle would’ve have ragged us about like a lion with a subutteo figure in its mouth the other night.

Every thread is at risk of descending into people arguing calling each other bell ends and cunts. I think it shows ultimately that we are all a bit stressed out with the apparent lack of movement in and out of the club. When do we think “something “ might happen. It’s dicey leaving things to the very last minute. Break a leg -Hugo fucking crack on!

Khaldoon in his end of season interview said we hadn’t been aggressive enough in previous windows and that we would be correcting that. I assume the quick splurge just before the CWC was the only aggression we are getting.
Which is all on Pep, as it was he who said he was happy with his ageing & increasingly injury-prone squad, when it was obvious to many looking on that our squad had peaked & were in slow decline.

We started the squad rebuild 2 years too late. That's why what should've been an evolution turned into a desperate revolution.

Newcastle wouldn't have played like that if they were playing us, or anyone but liverpool for that matter.Besides which they still lost.

That's exactly what a bell end would say.......haha

Do you have stats to back this up?

Also, if Rico has such a detrimental effect on our performances, why is Pep persevering with Lewis & his inverted FB tactic? Surely the stats would point to Lewis being the sole reason our season crumbled last time around?
they do, have a look

Lion with a subutteo figure, made we laugh. Where did you find that mate

Whilst last weekend was wank, I'm not panicking just yet. We've got a better squad, with a lot of options and they'll take time to work out the right systems and combination of players to make us most effective. It wasn't right on Saturday but we dust ourselves off and go again.

We need a right back and to resolve the situation with Ederson as a priority. Get Akanji and Gundo out if we can and go from there.

Okay hold on tho. This has been a think since Klopp got to this league.

My view is that the club saw this narrative and wanted no part of it. Yes we had 17/18 with the fastest front 3 but after that we always valued the fact that nobody had the bags of technical quality we had, it wasn’t just our midfield. It was from Ederson, to centre backs kike Laporte, even our role players like Zinchenko were technically gifted. It transferred to our wingers like Mahrez Bernardo. Our academy kids were churning out replicas like Foden Palmer McAtee Bobb.

Yes PnP is importsnt but I think people overstate it’s importance especially when things aren’t going right or they refuse to take a deeper dive in the context surrounding the tactical make up of the squad.

I think it’s all about balance. Something PSG have. They have insane fullbacks that have so much pace but their midfield technical ceiling is through the roof. With a fluid front 3 it just works for them. We just have to tweak some things and find the thing that works for US.

You made the claim, the floor's all yours to back it up with your empirical evidence mate. I'll wait...
Lewis win rate 66%, Nunes win rate 73%.

case closed. That's even comparing to Nunes, comparing to a proper right back would show Lewis to be even worse
