It's Quiet the £250m return

That's a good question, had to think about it for a minute.

If Rico's natural position is RB, which it was when he came through the ranks, then - last week?

You know what I'd find more interesting, is what percentage under Pep we would have played with 11 players in their natural/defined positions.

I am not saying that as any type of counter-argument btw, just following up on the logic really. Can't prove or even quantify it, but wouldn't surprise me if it was as low as 30% and below.
Marmoush is not a left winger and Nico G is not a 6 but that one is understandable...

You've missed my point entirely. Viana has identified those right backs.
And he gets paid a shit load of money as the sporting director to do just that. I'd have to go thru all of Serie A, the Bundesliga, La Liga, and Ligue Une to give you the dozen or more options, but I'll do it just for you. I'll get on it when I'm finished watching Spurs get beat by Bournemouth.

No the whole point im making is Viana can look at all the available right backs, of the right age profile and decide they're not a huge improvement on Rico and Nunes or they're simply not available.

Look forward to the list anyway though

If Viana can’t get a RB surely he could get a midfielder that can actually press and pass for 90mins

Said it a few times and will say again, we should have gone big for Baleba.

I think we've tried to be too cute and clever in the transfer market again, expecting Pep to once again work miracles plugging gaps in the team.

And if Newcastle didnt want to sell Livramento, much like Inter didn't want to sell Dumfries, Barca - Kounde, Monaco - Vanderson, Palace - Munoz?

That's how we're here isnt it.

Also Dumfries and Munoz are the wrong age profile for the squad and Vanderson while being the right age profile isn't much more tested at the top level than Lewis or Nunes. It's not impossible that Nunes's potential ceiling at RB is higher.

You can only say we've "missed out on" players that have actually moved imo, and the list is terrible.

Ironically waiting for Livramento, if that's what we're hearing is possible is probably the best policy.

Livramento is about to get receive and extension.
Dumfries never asked publicly to leave.
Munoz said he wants to join the best teams in the world.

Age profiles mean nothing to me when we are in a WIN NOW mode.

To reach our goals, win the big trophies I don’t see how a serious team dominates Europe with those two names. Especially when our back 5 hasn’t been solid for over a year.

If everyone else is playing out of their skin like Foden x Rodri did during the 4Peat sure.

Apparently Cherki and Foden are out. Reijnders is going to be our sole midfield creator. Do we need another midfielder?

Mukasa it’s your time to shine !

That died when we got Nico G.

Looks like no RB, no winger that can score goals, no real KDB replacement and no player capable of playing in Rodris role without us conceding loads of chances. We have signed a few players with exiting talent but to me it feels like none of last years seasons main issues have been solved. At least not on the transfer market.

Hopefully Rodri being back will be improvement enough, but if he wont be able to play most games its looking like it going to another long season..

As an appetizer I'll give you some from Serie A including Kayode on loan at Brentford from Fiorentina. Bellanova, Rensch, Bisseck, Savona and Cambiaso (yes that Cambiaso)...
