It's Quiet the £250m return

It will never cease to amaze that after all our spending all our planning and rebuilding we are stuck with Lewis and Nunes as our right backs. Lewis was dreadful last week and Nunes changed the entire match today but not in a good way.

We have one physically weak right back and one mentally weak one. For all the talk of rebuilding we are further away from Liverpool and Arsenal than we were at the end of the season.

We rely so heavily on Haaland but the service to him is so poor. Having lost KDB, probably about to lose Ederson we look bereft of creativity. I am genuinely concerned after today that we are in for a worse season than the last one.

We’re not criticising the poster - we’re criticising the Clubs lack of urgency
Apologies. I should have read all the way back. I just assumed, which was wrong on my part. I've just seen for years blues giving other blues who are attempting, in good faith, to let others know what they are told/hearing abuse when it doesn't come to fruition.

Thank you.

The fact we’re here again with Phil is massively concerning. This team was built for him. David-kev-Phil. But it’s his time now and he’s a shell of himself all last year and now is starting season like this.
He's barely been on the pitch!

In his cameo the otehr day he looked sharp but the problem doesnt lie centrally in terms of him...Its about how you balance it when there is NOTHING outwide creativily and a back 4 who look as shakey as hell and cant play through the lines without giving it away...there is a real stink of complacency about some of our players (Reijnders, RAN, Dias being 3 hug problems that are already showing up badly) - Marmoush aint much better either - sloppy all over the park unless he is in the opposition box. RAN by far the worst however - shocking. Id drop him for Nico Oreilly based on that las performance

We absolutely have to sign proper big players tomorrow because we're fucking awful. Livramento, Wharton, Donna and that already sounds much better. Or even Rodrygo.

We definitely need a big reaction to try and save the season from being all about a top 4 finish at best but there’s just no way this club is built to go out and react to a couple of defeats by splashing money on the final day and the fact is the standard of player we need just won’t be moving anywhere tomorrow.

I’m really not convinced any signing we’ve made in the last 12 months even gets on the bench in the treble season. And I know if that’s the standard then we will always fall short but the fact is then squad is desperately short of star big game quality.

Wouldn’t surprise me to learn that those in charge still don’t know who is staying and who is leaving. Difficult discussions my eye.
If that's the case, then everyone in charge should be sacked on September 2nd.

This is a brutal industry, and if you don't act brutal you will be brutalized. Every single time. and the club has acted immature in refusing to move on from players who clearly need to be gone and don't seemingly have a plan outside of "We have Pep he will figure it out."

In addition, I am not absolving Pep of any blame, especially if he has been the one pushing to keep some of these players, then serious questions need to be asked of him as well.

Our recruitment strategy has to change. Stop with the drip drip that amounts to hundreds of millions anyway. Sign elite players. The best. Isn’t that the level we’re supposed to be competing at? Then supplement with true stars from the academy. Not players that wouldn’t get near other champions league contender teams.

It makes no sense signing 5 or 6 anyway when the manager wants a smaller squad. There is definitely a seeming disconnect in what the manager says and our recruitment activity.

Employment law isn’t my bag, but I don’t think you can sack people under contract for being unable to get rid of other people under contract.

We’re the victims of our own success, I’m afraid, and will be for a while yet.

Too late now - the best have already been taken by clubs who knew what they needed

Remember Khaldoon's post season review where he made clear that we weren't going to fuck about in this window?

Well we made an excellent start and then started fucking about.

No right back. Clinging onto old players when we've had offers. Probably wasting a significant amount of money on "the world's best goalkeeper" who nobody actually wants.

We had the best squad planning in the world for over a decade and it has gone to shit over the last couple of years. Signing players nowhere near our standard and refusing to strengthen in serious problem positions.

Doesn't bode well so far for the end of the Pep era. Certainly not when our rivals are strengthening like they have.

The idea that the right back issue is the double core issue that needs to be resolved... Has anyone ever heard about the issues we had at ...
