It's Quiet the £250m return

So what is costing us? We’re nowhere near Liverpool and Arsenal at the moment, and the gap is getting bigger.

I agree that list is a bloody good set of players, so I’m guessing our main issues are the lack of goalscoring or creative wingers and no decent full backs.

Largely age and experience? We didn't drive our Salah and VVD into the ground like Liverpool did and theyll likely have a couple of titles to show for it.

I do think the tactics have got a bit rusty over time too - Bernardo on for control, Rico inverting...

still time left. Viana is busy. sadly only with getting rid of some players not incomings.

so far its Ederson, Akanji, Kabore out, Donnnarumma in and some youth players also moved.

Wilson Esbrand, Gundo, Phillip, Ortega still looking for a club?

if we get this 7 out from, 1 in, is that enough for Pep quantity wise or wants more to go? then we start to rack up injuries once games coming every 3 days and have Braithwaithe play for us again and instead of 9 subs named we just name 7. :)

So how many years do you expect Dumfries to want at 29? And not to try and get a pay rise as City's starting right back at one of the world's richest clubs?

You said "we should inquire" and I just responded with what it seemed like a market rate would be. Don't really need to be his agent to do that.
You didn't just respond that's the thing, you responded with a paragraph of crap which was never said, You came out with that nonsense, not me.

Even if we were to give him more than what he's on now which is (95k a week) we could possibly him (120k a week) and a four year deal which would take him to the age of 32 years old on top of us getting a really good right back in a position we need along with selling a player on bigger wages that doesn't get a game.

You can give him 250k a week seen as you said he's on 200k, you can also hive him a 6 year deal.

If at any time, outside of the Champions League, we see 2 goalkeepers sat on the bench again, then I will be upping my tincture dosage.

Donna hasn't played yet
Gvardiol injured
Dias has regressed
Rodders is still getting back to his previous level & may take some time.
Reijnders will hopefully come good, too early yet
Foden injured
Cherki injured
Marmoush not a wide player

It was just meant to be a ballpark of a Dumfries request mate.

I don't think he takes 120k, and i don't think he takes 4 years (which takes him to 33).

He needs a year to settle by which time he's 30 and I feel like as I guess you have watched him a fair bit we both know he's one of the world's most attacking full backs, not sure how much increased protection he offers.

The RB discussion is a tricky one because no good ones have moved all summer. Munoz, Aina, Dumfries the wrong age profile. So really all we can do is wait for Porro, Gusto, Livramento.

Problem is only 5 of those names were available yesterday and 1 not even fully fit. On paper we have a good nucleus, but getting them fit and playing consistently is another matter.

Ironically that's a good argument for not seeing the Brighton result as totally indicative of the real measure of this team.

Plus we're running on no pre-season.

Yes, we played the first two games without Donna (will be 1st choice, Trafford is a fantastic 2nd choice), Gvardiol (imo, our best defender), Rodri, Foden injured, several new players learning Pep's football and the league, and so on. Rodri started vs Brighton, and we were good with him, but Gvardiol was out, Foden and Cherki too.

The potential of this team is great. Pep needs several months to turn the potential into a real force.

having Grealish, Akanji out on loan with us paying part of their salaries. hope this makes Viana rethink when he hands out big salaries at new transfers or renewals. he has to learn from errors made under Txiki regime. he has to deal with some of consequennces of that too.

Akanji must have not been on extreme salary at Dortmund he wasnt even a regular starter there I think, how he ended up on 150K+ salary here?
dont get me started on Grealish taking home more for years than likes of Rodri, Gundo etc.
(oh and Phillips 150K too with resale value of a chicken breast..)

Akanji was on £180k a week.

It's why I think he was reluctant to move, especially at the age he was on.

I wouldn't have been surprised if Palace were offering less than £100k a week.

In the end it, it was always going to be a loan.

Take this season as a transitional one, new players need to learn the system, no right back so we will be targeted there. I reckon we hover around 3rd/4th.

so strange, doubt he was on even 1/3rd of that at Dortmund and arrived as a rotational cheap signing.
