I do not believe that Pep isn't the dominant character with transfers
that's interesting
It’s not all on Guardiola. Responsibility for signing players such as Phillips and Nunes, as well as for allowing Palmer to leave, has to be shared. The problems started long before last season. The board now appreciates the full consequences of running a small squad, running them long, and running them into the ground. We were in unique circumstances as a club and we’re now showing we’ve learned. This further confirms my suspicion that several aspects of the squad planning have been taken away from Pep. It would also explain Rodri's recent comments.
Added to Khaldoon's end of season statement, it could be that the club's hierarchy are privately fuming that we've allowed our advantage to slip.
This is all on Pep who resisted keeping clear Sky Blue water between us & the chasing pack. Within 12 months, it's now City doing the chasing, with Liverpool, Arsenal & Chelsea doing all they can to maintain their new found advantage over us.
It's like the old adage... You snooze, you lose.
I'd hazard a good guess that those final player acquisition calls would primarily fall on Txiki & Pep to make. What I've seen since the treble amounts to wilfull neglect. In the corporate world, this would be followed by final warnings & top level sackings unless the situation vastly improves. It’s not all on Guardiola. The £85m the dippers paid for him definitely needs investigating for money laundering.I will keep saying it until i am blue in the face but £56m for Darwin Nunez needs to be investigated!!
Net spend of 220 millionSorry what am I wrong on?
BBC says their source is footballtransfers.com which a) puts their fees in euros b) probably doesn’t include the academy teams that teams do similar to how transfermrkt does.
Most of these sites uses APIs from one or couple sources.
Im literally going line by line through every transfer to get a good direct source on what the reported fee is.
Their net there is also £228m
Ive now updated database after deadline and all my update is £220m net (with add ons) and a spend of £448m. One major change I did there was move Liverpools new keeper to this season as I looked up his contract and it essentially went through this summer rather than the initial reported buy > loan > return it was just a delayed buy.
Which fee is incorrect that’s the better question ?

Standard Chartered are giving them tutorials on money laundering. The £85m the dippers paid for him definitely needs investigating for money laundering.
I'm not sure how Nico G makes that list. He may not be lighting up the stats but when he has played he has not put too many feet wrong.Net spend of 220 million
We have fluttered that away on
Phillips
Nico G
Doku
Sav
Nunes
Rodri's quotes seem alarming to me !
I’d argue some of the names but whatever opinions. Though why Gonzalez would be on that list is beyond me hes been very good in his 2 gamesNet spend of 220 million

You can disagree all you like mate, as is your right to do, but when do several coincidences become more than that?Doesn't 'confirm' anything.
Sure, if younhave come up with a narrative and you want something to reinforce that, this can be used for that.
But I very much doubt any of what you have imagined is true.
I don't say that in any dismissive or flippant way btw, I understand your take and you have explained it well. I simply disagree and don't think there is much in it, including this 'claim'. Or whatever it is.
So what’s the forum’s idea of Peps successor in time?

I kind of agree to a certain extent, though I do like what managers such as Iraola and Thomas Frank have done with their teams, on a much smaller budget. If it's not someone like Enrique then I will be disappointed.
This club needs a proven leader and someone with authority and prestige to follow Pep, because if you start bringing in a project manager like Iraola post Pep, it will be Moyes and Ferguson all over again. The players just won't believe in him and respect him.
Nagelsman is a good shout, still not sure about Vinny and surely Fabregas replaces Arteta when he fails again.Nagelsman would be good, Fabregas if he carries on well for the next couple of years and don’t forget our Vinny!
