For Bucks sake!I think Rogers could be lured from Celtic.

I haven’t made any assumptions. Merely questioned whether the profile of our signings was right for the current situation we are in. I think we could have mitigated the risk a bit. There are question marks though as outlined above. Ages, career history and where they have played show there is a significant degree of risk. But the prices are reasonable which mitigates that. Time will tell.
And Reijnders is a Dutch international and Serie A POTY.Aguero had played nearly 200 games for AM, Silva was a World Cup winner/CL experienced and title winner, Kev Bundesliga winner with prem experience, Sane CL experience and German international. Others like Vinnie came in a different era/expectation level. And often came into a settled and sometimes dominate side. I accept they all had growth in them but largely started at a higher base, are more proven than this summers signings. Plus they came into a side with players at their peak and full of leadership and confidence. Arguably only Rodri is at his peak, we are in a different phase so I think an another proven player may have made a difference.
Wout Weghorst is a Dutch international, he wasn’t serie a player of the year, marmoush scored 27 goals across 1.5 seasons which isn’t “bossing” anything. Cherki created the most chances in the worst of europes top 5 leagues and finished 6th….And Reijnders is a Dutch international and Serie A POTY.
Marmoush is an international and bossed the Bundesliga.
Cherki created more chances than any other player in Europe's five leagues.
The issue is that your feelings about performances are creating a reality that just isn't there.
The players you mentioned were not the stars they became. The players we have bought are similar.
The players joining us now are joining a team with the world's greatest striker, a Ballon d'Or winner, two former Premier League players of the year, multiple CL winners, arguably the best young defender in world football...the list goes on, but it becomes really easy to distort truth to suit opinion.
We want these players to achieve great things, but we have to give them time, just as we gave Rodri, who arrived as Plodri; just as we gave KDB who arrived as a Chelsea reject; and just as we gave Pep, who couldn't do it in the PL.
247 posts. I haven't read them all but it looks like you are not a good addition to the forum. All the signings show signs of promise and I have nowhere said they will definitively fail. I agree we need to give them time. My point is given the current phase we are in, that the premier league has never been more competitive, that we have lost a number of leaders a rebalance between potential and proven ready to perform players may have been sensible.
If you disagree then debate it. Sensibly, constructively and with manners. If you haven’t got that ability then log off. A quick review of your posts would indicate you are in no position to be calling other people idiots.247 posts. I haven't read them all but it looks like you are not a good addition to the forum. I'm not so sure they're all proven quality mate. Cherki has bags of potential but it's still just that, Reijnders looks to be a very good player where we'll probably see the best of him next season. Ait Nouri might be ok long term but is he a CL level player, I'm not so sure.Nonsense
Cherki, Rejinders and Ait-Nouri are all proven qualty
As I said, it is east to twist to suit your truth, and you are demonstrating that.Wout Weghorst is a Dutch international, he wasn’t serie a player of the year, marmoush scored 27 goals across 1.5 seasons which isn’t “bossing” anything. One of the best 21 year old wingers in the world did make me laugh. The top class winger we would have let go for the right money.1 of them is a flop, 1 has done about as expected but has ended up RB, one's easily on the best 21 year old wingers in the world, ones a decent 23 year old one and one is a talented 23 year old midfielder who has already looked good for us.
So essentially 3 of them are exactly the sort of player you buy to start a rebuild, so I'm not sure what everyone is expecting.
The club have admitted that they acted a season too late. You and they are correct.I'm not so sure they're all proven quality mate. I don't think the issue is who we've signed but it's who we've lost and not replaced. We allowed the squad to grow old together and declined to sign anyone when we really, we should have made small improvements to the starting 11 in the two summer windows post treble season.
In hindsight, after the treble season, Cherki should have been signed to replace De Bruyne, Reijnders should have been brought in to replace Gundogan whilst we still had their experience. Then when it came to this season, and they both left, Cherki & Reijnders would have had 2 years under their belt.
We're now in a position where we have too much inexperience but a lot of potential. This season we might suffer, next season too but hopefully we'll benefit from it long term
The window is shut. We get on with who we have chosen. One of the best 21 year old wingers in the world did make me laugh. The top class winger we would have let go for the right money.
That's why all the top clubs were in for him when he was linked with Spurs, Yeah.
And if Nico G is as talented as you say, why as he not got a look in from the end of last season till now?? Where he was hauled off against Spurs and didn't even feature against Brighton. He did look good against Wolves. But then again, I bet half of us on here could have shone against them.
We need a Liverpool style transfer window where we identify the best players in the position required and get them. Otherwise we will be in their wake for the foreseeable.
Exactly, which is why this window was so important and which is why some of us think the club haven't done enough. The club have admitted that they acted a season too late. You and they are correct.
It is why we just need to get on with it now because it is done.
We may not have done enough, but we have done plenty.Exactly, which is why this window was so important and which is why some of us think the club haven't done enough.
But not only have we stood by some of those players, we offered some of them new and improved contracts. We've also see how difficult it's been to shift some of our players. Philips is still kicking about, Grealish is only on loan, Akanji too and both are in contract till 2027.
Maybe the club have factored all this in and maybe they're happy to write this season off, but next summer we're going to be in a similar position where we need to improve but also negotiate losing 2 key first team players in John Stones & Bernardo Silva

Load of bollox. KDB hardly got a game for Chelsea so you can hardly say he had PL experience.Aguero had played nearly 200 games for AM, Silva was a World Cup winner/CL experienced and title winner, Kev Bundesliga winner with prem experience, Sane CL experience and German international. Go on then, tell us who you would have bought with the money, who is champions league proven, and doesn’t play in France or Italy?Wout Weghorst is a Dutch international, he wasn’t serie a player of the year, marmoush scored 27 goals across 1.5 seasons which isn’t “bossing” anything. You can only assume that he plays Fantasy Football and thinks proven players can only cost £7.5M.Go on then, tell us who you would have bought with the money, who is champions league proven, and doesn’t play in France or Italy?
When you name shit and unrealistic players we can all have a good laugh at you.
By the time the latter comes around, all those we have bought now will have a year of experience. Bah and Reis will hopefully return. Khus will be roaring like an Uzbek lion. Cherki will be creating chances for fun. Echeverri will smoke what Bernardo can now give.Exactly, which is why this window was so important and which is why some of us think the club haven't done enough.

The top class winger spurs wanted to spend over £60mill on annd we rated enough to turn down. Gonzalez, who is still learning the hardest position to play in a Pep team a position Rodri too almost 2 seasons to get,yet he's looked very good and improving this season. One of the best 21 year old wingers in the world did make me laugh.
