It's Quiet the £250m return

Walker was shit on the offensive side no idea what people here be talking about
It’s a bonus for a FB to be going good going forward and infinitely better that they are elite defenders. More than that Kyle allowed us to play as pep wanted. S as much as the rodri injury killed is last year the absence of a prime Kyle hurt nearly as much

Felix Nmecha is on fire at the moment for Dortmund. Seems to be scoring regularly at moment. Scored an absolute screamer last night & seems to be regular starter. Just like him or Yan Couto to come back & haunt us when we play them. He could be an option to buy back in future being academy trained as well. Only thing is we are overloaded with attacking creative midfielders with Foden, Cherky, Reijjnders. Bobb can also play there. We've also got Mukasa coming through.

Felix is more of a DM/CM than a AM, he is regularly pushed on the edge of the opp box with Bellingham to dictate play and shoot long shots, front three usually wreak havoc in the box and full backs are wingers

tbf i thought Pep would use this kind of formation when he bought Ait-Nouri

According to the Portuguese newspaper Record, Manchester City will compete with Manchester United in the winter transfer window for Sporting CP midfielder Morten Hjulmand.
Record is one of the most authoritative newspapers in Portugal.

People are saying our recent signings over the last couple of seasons just aren't good enough and it's hard to disagree but just where are the truly proven world class players that are available these days?

The Great City teams of recent years had perhaps half the first eleven made up of often record transfer fee signings, proven world class players signed from top UK and European clubs.

But the ability to buy those type of players just doesn't seem to exist anymore, Haaland and Donna being the only two recent exceptions.

It's not just a problem for City, you just don't seem to see any huge transfers of proven world class players between top clubs anymore, or at least no where near as frequently as there used to be.

so a couple of months into the season we are still seeing that we need fullbacks, a centre half and a CDM.

Will we address any of these in the Jan transfer window...highly unlikely as we arent going to be able to move anyone on.....

Next summer Stones, Bernardo, Nunes must all be moved on.

Big decisions will need to be taken on Sav, Doku depending on how they do the rest of this season. Id also say Rico Lewis is in that as well but having just given him a 5 year contract that aint going to happen - but its clear that he is now seen as a midfielder and not a fullback...so he is now competing with those other players in those positions. He looks more suited to the midfield role but there are parts of his game that need to be worked on.

The club will also have to start planning for the eventual downturn we will see in Rodri over the next 2-3 seasons as well - when trying to replace a player of his stature and ability you dont do it in one year - you must plan for it. (regardless of who the manager might be as well)

Exactly that. Dortmund used to be the club that would sell their best but now it’s caught up to them and they’re bang average now. We are now having to take the risk of buying proven players at lesser clubs.

Too many posters want Pedri, Valverde, Pavlovich etc but they’re never leaving Barcelona, Madrid and Bayern respectively.

Go get Semenyo I thought it was just this season he’s been good but he’s been good for three seasons. Continues to get better.

We need proven quality on the wings pay whatever it takes.
He'd be shit in our squad. Doesn't play against flat back 11s every week.

Not sure I’d trust our current transfer committee with 250 billion to spend, never mind 250 million.
We would still likely be looking at projects, bargains and release clauses.

We might have to make a decision on Rico when he's old enough that he has to be registered in the squad list as one of the 25 man squad.

Serious question. Who would you have bought in the summer?
Liveremento, Kerkez and Wirtz looked like the options favoured on BM but none of them are looking all that clever.

Livramento was the only one of those who I really wanted, and he's been fine. Newcastle kept 4 clean sheets in the first 5 games, and he played every minute. In the 6th game against arsenal they were winning 1-0, then he got injured after about 75 minutes, and arsenal scored 2 late goals with him off the pitch.
