We have not yet given up hope in this window but we are confident of announcing a deal in January (pre-contract or token fee) we are comfortable either way.

I would fear Paris if it was a freebie but our people insist he is genuine as they come.

He is literally saying whoever can play or fill in certain areas,like he said last time after Mendy's injury that Laporte can play there, Zinchenko can play there etc etc. Doesn't mean there's no shortage there. No one's going mad aside the ones in denial here, and no one is saying Foden isn't David's replacement either.

City might not have given up hope for this window, but Bartomeu is basically campaigning on the fact he kept Messi -




It's really hard to see how he'll possibly let him go. January 1st contract announcement seems like the best bet IMO.

What would have to happen for it to happen in this window?
 
Foden was fit and available for multiple games yet barely once played in 'the David Silva role' for lack of a better word. Played a lot out wide either side and false 9. Maybe I'm wrong but Pep's words aren't entirely lining up. How will he all of a sudden become a David Silva replacement then, not as easy is it, and definitely not easy to just stick another player in there like Bernardo and hope it will just work out. Gündogan clearly isn't that profile that David was, and neither is Phil really. There's a reason Aouar looks so impressive to a lot of people, because he can control the tempo of the game and dictate our possession, a lot like how a David Silva can do. So yeah, we are definitely short in midfield, not a crisis like at centre half area, but definitely one we could try and improve on.

If we sign the young cb, keeping Stones and letting Garcia go becomes the smart thing to do

Noway we could have Ake, Garcia & Kounde as 3 of the 4. All under 6 foot!!!
 
Id love us to sign Messi in January for a fee then we get Barca in the champions league could you imagine that.

Do you think that there are possibilities take him in that window ? There are 2 weeks untill the deadline, so can we continue dreaming ?
