Still think we’d be interested, although the five year contract being touted (three with us, two at NYC) seems unlikely. He’d be 39 by the end of it.

Actually if the upper management is no longer at Barca the most likely thing is he'll resign an extension.

Does anyone else feel incredibly disappointed in the way that Messi's camp have played this last week out?

I don't know how anyone could be disappointed in their actions without knowing what's going on.

For all we know, City and Messi are on the same page, he needed to be let go for free, they tried to go public vs. La Liga to get them to back down, but Bartomeu stood firm.

I'm sure more details will emerge when people like TH, the Barcelona connected journalists and the city ones get the full story from the respective parties. Then we can take a crack at judging what's happened.

It’s all too political for me this

Don’t think this is the end of this saga but glad City themselves kept their own council and let Barca implode

Who’s turn is it next Bart or Messi

The problem is so much deeper than the board. The problem is the squad and manager and they don't have any money to fix it.
This Barca squad is still good enough to win La Liga. Real aren't all that and were grinding out results barely last season.

Griezmann, Dembele, Messi, De Jong etc are all good players. Fresh air coach also will help them. If they win La Liga it will be easy to convince him of a new project.

Was weird releasing a statement in the morning hinting he was leaving only to then release an interview in the afternoon saying he was staying.

do you need a cuddle ?
To be fair your percentages are hardly reliable. 99% done when all that seemed to happen was Messi said he'd be interested in coming to us. Given the fact nothing was agreed with Barca at all and Messi's word is hardly worth anything (hasn't he retired from Argentina twice) how is that 99% done

Thinks that pretty spot on but Messi camp thinking Bartomeu wouldn’t react like he has have learnt nothing from that cunts past.

I don't because I think they have done what they could but were not prepared to take Barca to court which is not unreasonable. What more could they do when they are not dealing with a reasonable man in Bartameu.
