Until the window shuts or Messi signs a new deal I will remain steadfast that he wants to move to city. I wld be happy with just Kk. Team wld be instantly improved with his pace and power.

He does want City. Bartomeu won't sell. It seems fairly black and white to me.

You can’t trust a politician. Who knows what games he is playing. If it is as clear cut as you suggest why would Messi bother with the interview? Lots of games at play here but more importantly lots of money.

The entire transfer budget is now earmarked for Messi. Work is going on behind the scenes to settle with sponsors of Barca whose contracts were dependant on Messi being there. Defensive reinforcement plans have been shelved on the grounds that we'll work with what we've got because with Messi we will outscore everyone.

I made all this up but it's both feasible and appealing

Messi bothered with the interview because he couldn't just show up to training and act like nothing happened. He wanted to go, we all know that. Bartomeu said no, so unless we're hoping for a miracle and for him to suddenly change his mind, the deal is dead for this summer.

Why would he when he wasn't prepared to meet at the table to begin with? He said he would not negotiate, that's not a negotiation tactic, that's a stance. If he wanted an offer he would've met City and seen what we would be prepared to offer.

Long way to go on this. €100 million can change a persons stance. Throw in a young slow physically and mentally weak Garcia to sweeten the deal. Also do we have any proof he point blank refused to meet with KAM? Very quiet from camp Barca.

How can it change his stance when he probably knew he could extract that from City to begin with and still refused to negotiate? From where I'm sitting, this deal is absolutely dead in the water. Messi has rejoined the side, absolutely no indication that Bartomeu would even be willing to change his stance and no links that City believe they can still get him. We all want Messi but the reality is that now isn't the time it'll happen.

Until a bid is submitted we can’t know how Bart will react. He is not the evil mastermind people like to believe. He is a politician with huge debts. All he wants is for this to go away and for himself to pocket a large fee and accept no blame. We are talking bout a 33 year old player who has asked to leave. 100 is an acceptable offer.

You're just setting yourself up for disappointment. If he wanted the money, he'd have agreed to negotiate. You do not bid on players that a team will not negotiate for. Messi will not happen. Bartomeu has explicitly said he will not sell him and the links ended once Messi had the interview and rejoined training. It's over.
