Manchester City became a soft-touch and by the end of the season Pep was so frightened of another CL quarter final defeat that the man of footballing principle panicked and filled his midfield with defensive players.
Now is the time to fix City's broken team. City have signed the cultured Nathan Ake but many fans fear the ghost of Kompany. His boots lie empty only to be filled by a right sided defender. Speculation centred on the matador of Naples. Legend tells he floored Salah but fighting is a young man's game. Spanish headlines this morning turn to the Berber City of Seville, and their young defender Kounde. Not much is known about their young lion but he appears ferociously quick and fierce in the tackle. City fan's will hope that the tale ends here in the Arab city of Seville.

Knowing that we need to get a quality replacement in at CB that should have been done ages ago....why the hell are we continually low balling bids that have no chance of succeeding ?

Love the lyricism of this, but you let yourself get carried away a bit. A defence that is no longer fit for purpose? You don't think that that's a tad overstated? We conceded two goals more than the champions, and had a better record than every other team in the league. We need a bloody good central defender — not merely a fairly good one — who plays on the front foot and reads the game, and, ideally, someone in front of him to give Fern a well deserved rest (Rodri may be capable of doing that job — he's being judged too quickly by some on here). That's it.
Agree with you about Messi, by the way. I'm a victim of it myself. The idea of seeing Messi in sky blue just gives me a stiffy. And at my age, that is something to be treasured. Too much information…

I watched all our games last season we make enough chances really good chances to win every game but because of back four changes in every game it’s cost us! Pep needs to play the same back four for more than one game, maybe it was he doesn’t trust the players I don’t know but keep changing the back four doesn’t help the understanding.
In 2018/19 we conceded 23 goals in the league, in 2019/20 it was 35. I know we lost Laporte for most of the season but it's still a problem and it puts too much stress on the rest of the side. Concede first and you lift the opponent, and clear-cut chances for an equaliser are snatched at.
