Could be wrong here, but just passing on a rumour I heard that the club were really not happy with last night. Big time. Sped up a potential hunt for a LB that they were considering putting off until next summer. Obviously take it with a pinch of salt, but at least we don't have to wait long to see if anything comes from that.
This can only be positive, there are some decent options available on market, hope they can sort something out before end of week.

"considering putting off until next summer" says everything how negligent we are with LB position. Does Txik have something against left backs?

It should not take 5-2 home defeat to do something about it.

I don't know why they were allegedly doing that, so I won't jump to conclusions. Might've been that they've tried all summer and struggled to get anything done/move players out that we needed to so in the past few days put it off? Might also be bad info? Who knows. All i care is that whatever happens we do try and sort this.

Seems to tally with Tolmies not so cryptic post which alluded to Ajax and Tagliafico.

If we have seriously "sped up" looking for a LB on the strength of yesterday, then it'll be a panic buy, and could cause as much damage than it's intended to mend.

Some good news/bad news here. Good news is that last night has opened the clubs eyes to the fact that we need a left back, but bad news because it took last night for them to realise this. 90% of City fans could have told them that. The lack of a quality centre forward last night also indicates we may come unstuck with a injured/receding Aguero and only one proven back up plan. Reminds me of the centre back situation last summer.

They will probably have wanted a look to see if Mendy had turned a corner. Turns out he hasn’t. Off we go to the list and see if they can move Zinchenko along and get Alaba or Tagliatelle

Well in fairness, any panic buy is going to be upgrade. So can't go wrong really. Surely we can't sign anyone worse?
