have a look at my posts hun, think you find I do , sterling over mane or salah ? Nah not having that. Laporte before his injury and horrendous Form after the re start maybe and same with Kun maybe 2 years ago, every time he gets injured he’s a little less mobile and think scousers would prefer someone up top who presses and isn’t injury prone. Kun is miles better then firmino of course but he wouldn’t get in that side and system , no way !

With Dias signed. I expect Dias-Laporte to be our main partnership. Ake has looked very good in his early days and i feel like he would be wasted on the bench. I think he would be a very solid LB, at least defensively. Which is why i'm not as panicked about signing another LB.

I think FW and maybe even our midfield is a more pressing issue.

Yep...but if we could get say Tagliafico in then we shoukd finally have a very good back line.

Dias looks like the right choice, think he will make a huge impact and show his worth straight away

Unrealistic it may be, but at the moment we have zero options of any note to play at left back. When we sign a left back we then have zero back up options. You may say Ake is backup, but that once again is playing people out of position (Ake, Zinchenko and Cancelo) and that will not work in big games or for any length of time.
We now have Dias, Laporte and Ake so that's a pretty decent centre back trio.

All I am saying is if you want to win and be at Liverpool's level (which sadly we are now not at present) you need to identify the week points and rectify.

As far as I am concerned Mendy is done, so either loan him or leave him out, I would even loan him and not ask for wages just to get him out and playing.
Zinchenko, again loan out let him play and then get a fee next year
Garcia, fuck him. rinse barca as best we can if they don't pay put him back in the EDS
Stones - I wantg him to succeed. but again just loan out, get the games, build confidence and either sell or bring back.

Fair points at the end there. We may have to be a bit ruthless but they're well paid and know the score. If Sunday's pathetic showing didn't wake up Pep, the players and management team, especially after last season, then nothing will.

Sadly I disagree on Sterling and Aguero. Sterling is not near the form of Salah and Mane right now. Aguero is taking more than 2x as long as expected to recover from a knee injury and his effectiveness is gently fading with age.

For me only Laporte and De Bruyne would get in their team. The most damning thing is that only Van Dijk was an unobtainable fee, the rest is better scouting, negotiating and coaching.

in the real world Aaour and Tagliafico would join in a heartbeat and neither would be that expensive.
Alaba, no idea. But if he wants to join then a deal wouldn't be too hard. Bayern sold Thiago to Dippers because they wont risk losing £30m.

We talk big but in reality we have signed Ake (good signing but expensive), Torres (squad player with potential for a good fee) and Dias (not the player we had planned to sign).

In the real world, we are at capacity on foreign players in the squad at the moment (due to having 5 non club trained home grown players when the limited is 4, which means one uses up a foreign spot) - we are in a one in one out situation, and clearly we’re trying to ship out Zin for a left back. Tagliafico seems most likely at the moment. Thats the realistic part.

Aouar may prefer us to Arsenal, but we’d have to move another player on to bring him in - and that just isn’t realistic at this stage of the window given the wages we pay without caving to some ridiculous Sanchez loan to Inter type deal where we pay £200k a week for someone to play for another club.

We are a business, and our owners pride themselves on running us as such. All this chat about players like Mendy sitting in the stands collecting their wages for doing fuck all just isn’t realistic. Proper clubs just don’t treat their players like that - and aren’t that financially reckless.

Alaba - by all accounts - has no interest in coming to the PL. I really can’t understand why anyone is suggesting him as a serious option. Pini Zahavi is clearly playing his games at the moment, with a view to getting his client a better deal, but i don’t see any of the noise about Alaba coming from our club.

And you have absolutely no basis to claiming Dias wasn’t the player we had planned to sign. None. In fact, it seems we’ve been tracking him for a couple of years, and when his fee came down from the €100m release in his contract after Benfica got knocked out of the CL 2 weeks ago - we got him for a price we were willing to pay.
