My initial posr was taking the piss out of the style of your posting...

You make statements as if you know.....you dont...like i said a stopped cloxk is right twce a day. ..because even something that is fucked can be right for a split second.... You just post negative comments about what isnt happening.....

When have you ever said somone will come just out of interest?
Ah, so now you are back tracking. Your initial post was totally untrue, a fabrication, porkies and now you are trying to make out it was a joke to save face.

You have since Proceeded to dig a bigger hole for yourself. I am going to make it easy for you now and end it here as I can sense that you are getting a bit upset now, so goodnight.

Obviously it's not stellar but as people have said replacing Otamendi and Stones with Ake and Dias means at CB we are way stronger.
Leroy didn't play by so Torres is better.

Throw in Foden, Jesus, Rodri are all a year older and I'd say we are wat stronger than last year.

But we have no proper left back
This is biggest issue has been for a few seasons.

We’ve improved the team and the squad if we’ve improved by 15 points we win the league, So last year proves nothing unless you think Pep Guardiola has suddenly forgotten everything that has made him the most successful manager in the game.

It proved that if you take away the core fundamentals of what makes you successful to pursue an idealistic vision in an arena where the game has changed then you'll fall short. We only improve by 15 points if Pep adapts his vision and plays to the strength of the squad he's now assembled and covers up its weaknesses. It's not memory loss, it's pursuing a vision that isn't attainable.

What's with everybody's obsession with Usain Bolt being our DM now? I'm just going to copy and paste what I posted in the Rodri thread since it's relevant:

Ahh so it appears we have annointed a new scapegoat ahead of this season and it’s Rodri now.

Anybody clamoring for Dinho just happened to forgot that any good pressing team will just turn our team to mush. Remember against Liverpool when the team couldn’t even get past the halfway line before turning the ball over? Fun times.

We need a more press-resistant DM and Rodri is one of the best in the business. Yes we miss Dinho’s dynamism in the PL, but in Europe we’re resting our hope on Rodri if we ever want to go far. All the teams in Europe don’t sit back and will take us on and press us.

I think Pep’s take on this is that it’s much more likely for Rodri to become more Dinho-like by improving his positioning and anticipation, rather than having a more dynamic player like Dinho and hoping him to become more press resistant like Rodri.

Rodri is not a complete player yet but this is his 2nd season, and he’s still 24 years old. At 24 years old Fernandinho was in his 2nd season in the Ukrainian league. If we’re waiting for Rodri to become a complete player before we buy him, I’m sorry to say but 100M won’t be enough to buy him.

If Pep wanted someone like Dinho he would’ve just bought Partey from Atletico that had a cheaper release clause than Rodri. But the fact is we’re veering away from that direction in terms of the type of DM that we want in our team.

Bang on, I've said similar on here too.

It seems to be because Fernandinho has been so good for us that people believe he is the only player that can do that job in our team.

Looking across the top teams in Europe we can see that there are a variety of players and styles you can use in midfield to be successful.

For me Rodri is just going back to the Gareth Barry style midfielder, which I am very happy with because I thought Barry was brilliant. I wonder if a lot of posters on here slagged off Barry because he couldn't run after Ozil in the world cup?

when he kicked the ball in his own net at Southampton, morelike. He had a midfield partner who could run, as well, and Mancini protected him more.
