I’d trade any number of domestic cups for one CL but ofcourse that’s personal opinion.

edit: Not to say Pep would’ve failed if he didn’t win one, that would be too simplistic and childish imo.

I know the people say I came here to win the Champions League. I did not come here to win the Champions League, honestly," he said.

"I came here to play with my team the way we are playing in the last 20 months. To play the way we want to play.

"Of course I want to win the Champions League...
“Honestly, I only came to England to see Johnny Stones’s unfeasibly large testicles.”

With respect pal, you haven't been a blue very long if you say that. The Stoke final was monumental and when the final whistle blew it meant more to me than I'll ever feel if we go on to win the CL. It even eclipsed Aguero winning us the PL deep into injury time. I wouldn't swap any trophy for the CL. We'll win it in due course I suppose.

Couldn’t agree more, and beating that lot in the Semi wasn’t far behind

Ah, so now you are back tracking. Your initial post was totally untrue, a fabrication, porkies and now you are trying to make out it was a joke to save face.

You have since Proceeded to dig a bigger hole for yourself. I am going to make it easy for you now and end it here as I can sense that you are getting a bit upset now, so goodnight.

Never said it was true - as i just said i was taking the piss (not joke - thats different altogether) about your posting style - thats just fact - your posting style is always the same - short blunt statements with no explanation or substance.....

You try to come across as if you know and you dont - you just make a 50-50 statement - you know nothing and just because some of them come true doesnt mean you know anything - you just have a 50-50 chance of being right.

You are correct though - you do make it easy.

As for upset - far from it - more like laughing at you as most of the forum does

Liverpool's policy at the minute seems to be fuck our academy lads, we'll just sell and make some cash. I don't want to hear any more bullshit about how fantastic their second string are.

Exactly. Pep seems to get loads of flack about not giving youth a chance. Would be interested to know which academy players have started in the premier league under Klopp. I can only think of TTA. I have never heard one bit of criticism directed at Klopp regarding the the lack of opportunities for their academy players.

I’m not even gonna argue with that because it’s true, I don’t have the same kind of affection towards the League and FA cup as some of the older fans. Though I did get influenced a lot by the Champions League while growing up watching the likes of Ronaldinho and Kaka put on a masterclass, it was also one of the first competitions I followed closely along with the world cup.

Edit: Of course I don’t mean that I’d literally swap the 2011 FA cup for a CL because I witnessed that myself and realize the importance of that win in the grand scheme of things for the Club, I just wanted to emphasize that moving forward I’d rather we go all guns blazing on a memorable CL run than a number of cool Carabao/FA triumphs.

Bang on, I've said similar on here too.

It seems to be because Fernandinho has been so good for us that people believe he is the only player that can do that job in our team.

Looking across the top teams in Europe we can see that there are a variety of players and styles you can use in midfield to be successful.

For me Rodri is just going back to the Gareth Barry style midfielder, which I am very happy with because I thought Barry was brilliant. I wonder if a lot of posters on here slagged off Barry because he couldn't run after Ozil in the world cup?

Ive noted the similarities between Barry and Rodri before - however the difference here is not the players (though there are some differences - Barry was even more complete in the dark arts of winning free kicks for instance) - the difference is the team they are playing in

Barry had 4 very good defenders behind him whose main purpose was to defend -with Rodri he has two fullbacks flying forward all the time - leaving space behind them - one of them cant defend either (Barry had Zabba, Clichy and even Sagna (I think) who were all competent defenders not to mention Kompany, Lescott (who was a very basic defender but he could defend)

Our style of play is a lot more exposed than it was under Mancini -thats not a criticism of either styles as both had success and produced great football (peps football is much more attractive to watch but Mancini's was pretty good to)

Thats why Rodri is more exposed - teams also play differently against us now...when we won the title with Mancini, teams would try and play against us - now the vast majority sit back and just hit us with pace on the break - thats why the liverpools, utd and Wolves (last season) all did us over...leicester this season already - some teams have the players to exploit us (Mane, Salah, Vardy Rashford, Greenwood, and most of Wolves front line as well) - the lieks of Burnley dont

This maybe why Pep has started with Both Rodri and Ferna in his games so far - it fell apart when ferna was taken off vs Leicester (but in the interst of fairness Wolves could/should have scored 2-3 against us as well)

now with Dias this might change - he is front foot defender...he will try and stop those counters before they happen - ths will at times lead to mistakes, yellow cards (Maybe even red) but this may also push the back line further forward and compress that huge gapping gap between our midfield two and back line - the only issue is the bal over the top and into the channels behind our fullbacks...with walker thats not such an issue (though its not perfect) but on our left hand side mendy gets caught in two minds all the time and gets exposed...he then also doesnt get back quick enough when we lose possession - this is why teams target our left side..they know its easy to expose him

If we are in for a elft back (though we may not get one) Pep et al. have clearly lost a bit of faith in mendy.
