Midfield is a major problem. No matter how people want to dress it up or talk bollocks, we have a big problem with Rodri’s lack of pace & mobility. A Fernandinho of 2 years ago would make up for so many problems in this side. There aren’t many like him around, arguably none with ALL of the qualities he had but for balance we should have an option in the squad as a 6 who can fucking run and bring some power to the side to stop the midfield being totally bypassed.
Those 2 areas should be a bigger priority than left back IMO. We have Ake who can do a job defensively there, Mendy is fine for certain games and Zinchenko / Cancelo can cover although agree that none of them are the answer. We won 5 trophies in 2 years without a good enough left back, the spine is most important and we’ve ignored it.
I can’t believe we have been so stubborn not to see the issues we witnessed for a full 12 months and are seeing already this season, albeit with a depleted squad. Total waste of Peps last season imo and I think he knows it too. Will support the team every game, but anybody who thinks we are going to be in the title race this season needs to give their head a big wobble.

Haaland doesn't solve the goalscoring problems either. Teams will workout how to defend against him

Haaland scores more goals than the other striker we had upfront today, he also scores more than Jesus.

It was Haaland's 2nd season as a top footballer lol
17 in 16 for Salzburg and currently 18 in 17 for Dortmund, also 3 in 4 at International level, kids scoring a goal a game lol
Sterling scored more goals than Mane last season it doesn't mean he's better.

Better atacking player.What has Cancelo done to inspire confidence? What I did notice when he played was his terrible final ball and even worse shooting. He didn't look great at right back, never mind left back.
I think Ake is too good for the bench, so I'd give him a try at left back where he is supposed to be comfortable.
