Sergio won't be fit, that's my answer

Oh, do you work in City’s fitness team? What do you know about that? Absolutely nothing.

Agüero injured his meniscus just like Laporte. Does he look like he’s ready to die? Why wouldn’t Sergio come back?

Jesus is a top striker and he improves every game. We can’t add a third striker just because we’re short for a few weeks. This isn’t FIFA.

So what happens if he and Jesus are fit in 2/3 weeks time? The striker issue is a difficult dilemma.
Nice problems to have I say, do you think PSG worried about that when they signed Neymar & Mbappe? We have any number of defenders & midfielders on our bench every match but no game changing striker, we don’t exactly play with wingers anymore, it’s more a left/right sided attacker, Jesus can play wide & so could Haaland (For instance) For me it’s time to cut our loses on Mahrez & replace him with an out & out striker for better squad balance, we have Raz Torres & Bernie who can play as out & out wingers if need be, plus Foden & Jesus. Facts are we need a striker & sooner rather than later. As for Delap, he needs a full season in the Championship, his style of play would thrive at any club, FWIW I would of loved to see a bit of Delap yesterday in those conditions, but he isn’t the answer just yet

Christ the opinions on Pep, board and the squad in just 3 games are shocking. You have to be some angsty teenager to be so impatient, else it is quite concerning to be this stupid.

3/4 of last season too. These 3 games are just the continuation of the same problems.

The same manager, many of the same players got 198 points over two seasons, became the first (and so far only) centurions, were the first club ever to hold all 4 domestic trophies in a season and over two calendar years were the only club to win a domestic trophy.
Let’s ignore all the injuries and loss of form though. Pointing the above out makes you a happy clapper apparently. Stands to reason the only way is down after all that success. The test for Pep is does he want to be involved in his first ever rebuild and inevitable transition season/s. I for one hope he does, but only if he’s in the right frame of mind. We also need to reflect on all those players we are fortunate to have and had who in hindsight were very cheap. The investment our owner has put in across CFG convinces me we aren’t going anywhere, even if (IF) we are destined for a poor season. I also take heart from Chelsea’s Champions League win. They were highly tried and actually won it when their squad was on a downward cycle.

The club can't drop 50 - 100 million on a striker because we have excessive injuries. The academy has to come into play which it has with Delap. Rashford only got his chance because of an injury to Martial..
Pep would rather play wingers as strikers instead of bringing Delap on.

What top side is carrying 3 strikers, especially the 3rd being another top class goal scorer? Be realistic, it's just not possible to have another 9.

Tevez, Aguero, Dzeko, Balotelli.. Yea- I know that was 2012.

The issue with Aguero is not *just* his fitness mate he’s not close to what he used to be. You just pretending not to have seen the decline in his performances when he was fit ? If we wanted to challenge for this league, which we won’t, then Aguero should have had a lesser role this season eg like Silva last season.

Jesus’ problems is also not his recent injury, he’s not good enough to be our first choice striker.

It’s not about having 3 strikers, the main point lots of people seems to be missing is that we don’t have 1 capable of firing us to the title in this league, against this Liverpool side. Aguero at this point in his career is not good or fit enough to be first choice and Jesus never has been. We need 1 TOP striker at the club who is *still* world class

And it’s not just a striker thing, this side has got major fucking issues which we have chose to ignore for 2 successive summers and in some positions even longer.

Well, we lost 9 games last season, amongst some others in cup and CL. The problem cannot just be fixed when next season has begun barely 3 weeks after last, and players have had no pre season or any chance to get rhythm with the injuries and COVID. it's ridiculous to have these expectations, we were outplayed in last game vs Leicester, and outplayed again yesterday vs Leeds after first half. Tired legs, injuries make us look out of ideas, it can be fixed. No need to lose heads over this.

Other teams are in the same situation with Covid and lack of proper preseason. Doesn't seem to have effected them as much.

We looked tired and unfit last season too.

We played two then so it was 2 for each position. Which ended with Tevez throwing his toys out.
Whether Jesus is good enough is an opinion, but mine is the team looks better when he plays. Either way while we have Aguero and Jesus we won’t be bringing in a third established striker unless he’s young and or can play across the 3.
