Have to wait and see his video but if he has been communicating with City up until this morning like Tolmie states then this turn around leaves a bitter taste, not sure the clubs faith in him will still be there, lets just see how it plays out anywayYeah it's easy to say that when you're upset he's not coming now.
When he signs a precontract in January 2021 having already scored 30 goals and 20 assists in 20/21 so far you won't be so sad.
We don't know the legal position. It might be that La Liga and Barcelona is right, and they can demand €700m and refuse to negotiate. Fuck, it might even be City who have said "sorry, if you can't get out if the contract for free, we can't do it".
He wants to leave, you don't go through all this otherwise.

He was absolutely buzzing when the La Liga letter in and City were fully expecting it too, all systems go. Agreements all in place. City and Messi were still talking earlier today. Perhaps there is a strategy I'm not privy to, but just waiting to hear from them again.
Thanks for all the updates... let’s just see how this plays out. In the short term if Messi backs out it looks like a victory for a Barca but in reality it’s an absolute disaster. They are a wreck of a club - forcing someone to stay who’s made it clear he wants to go. It’s like catching your wife cheating and locking her in the coal shed... what’s the point? Barca are gonna wave bye bye next summer and pay handsomely for the privilege!

not quite true. those who accurately called today's statement are reporting the same as everyone else - he's staying.
The initial incorrect story came from the same tv station though.
Unfortunately this seems to have been confirmed by a much better source

So Tolmie here and even Sam Lee said City and Messi were talking today morning so don't know what happened. Maybe know few minutes hos video will make things clear.
