Honestly, yes. This is the exception to an otherwise cast-iron rule.

This is a guy that will still be the greatest player of all time when we’re on death’s door. And he will have worn the City shirt. You will want a nice, visual memory of that, trust me. Get it printed, wear it with disbelieving pride, and get it framed and on your wall once he moves to NYC. Lionel Fucking Messi.
Hmm it could change my inner Colin v David debate to a Colin v David v Lionel debate! I am sure Colin and David would forgive me? To be fair you couldn’t get 3 more unassuming superstars, sorry Yaya

I think that despite Messi's desire to come here and our readiness and preparation to do the deal, people will have to be patient and I can see this rumbling on (and there is a danger to that as well as we know he could have a change of heart and that would surprise no one)

Barca board and management are going to make this drag on - they will clearly say there is a year left on his contract and unless the buy out clause is met he stays (and no one is going to meet that, not even us). They could even refuse to negotiate with us. If they do negotiate then that will also be a protracted affair as they will be pissed off that it is happening

All the while this is happening Messi will have to train with Barca (We know he is already intending on doing this) and thats when there is a slight danger he starts to feel the desire to stay.

Hopefully we can get this over the line but I feel there is a lot of politics to sort through and the media will also do their best to muddy the waters for everyone.

Tbf, they are getting rid of all his mates, so it's more likely to be even more annoying for him.

Simon Stone has jumped on the "Jesus, Bernardo and Mahrez" are definitely staying bandwagon.

I think Mahrez will be gone in 12 months and barely play if Messi arrives, but given the insane schedule of next season, I can see why you'd keep him if there's squad space.

In theory, he becomes a bit redundant if Messi arrives, but Pep has never hid away from having top players outside the team & lets them go, if they ask.

I imagine he will get his chance to prove himself with Meessi, too.

so whats happening

@SWPISHOME snigger snigger
Haven't a clue was hoping you would know, Turns out you know sweet feck all lad so now I'm not up to speed on what's going on and I ain't going through the pages to see what was said either.

I hear what you say... but can you think of a time when a high profile player has wanted out from a club and NOT got his own way?
