I don't think we're going into the season without another CB in and Otamendi out.

I've come around to Diego Carlos after watching the Roma game, he's back on TV vs. Wolves tonight.

If Napoli won't play ball, £67m on Carlos will fill the gap, and selling them Angelino really makes sense as well with them losing Reguillon so I'd hope that happens.

Yeah this is a very fair point. I was speaking to someone who knows Spanish football pretty well and he told me that despite only having one season, Carlos is fantastic, proper old school in terms being a tough bustard but good on the ball and quick.

I think City will soon enough move on from Koulibaly, its obvious that there's an issue with the two clubs after Jorginho and I think having a flat fee just makes it easier to get the deal, plus I think we have a much better relationship with Sevilla too.

Don’t think it’s a big miss. Yes he’s a top player but Barca paid €75m and €300k per week in wages. De Jong would be one of the top earners at our club coming from Ajax. Understandable why we didn’t want to meet his wage demands. They were excessive.

With all due respect that's complete bollocks. You can't buy commitment and loyalty. If someone and I include Mbappe doesn't want to be here for the right reasons (footballing/trophies), then he's not welcome.

If de Jong wanted to join us so much, he wouldn't have gone to Barcelona. In the same way Sane wouldn't sign his new contract because he wanted to go to Bayern.

Just like Real, they spent €300 million last summer, the largest spending in one transfer window in history if I’m not mistaken and it’s not mentioned anywhere. We spend half that and immediately we’re destroying football haha.

I've not seen anyone post that last bit but if they have, then they're crackers. That said if de Jong did have his heart set on being here, he would be here and not in Barcelona. If I wasn't a City fan, I'd be in Barcelona too.

I am pretty sure he wont go anywhere. Why would he? There are no rumors as well. His transfer changes a lot of thing in our squad. If he goes then we have to buy a quality left back which doesnt come in amount less than 60 million. That gives less money for a CF or a midfielder. Another CB we are buying anyway. So i think we will not buy a LB this season.

Heard nothing so far in terms of Zin wanting out or us even telling him he is.

Even in the highlights videos he looked very raw. Maybe he's one we will revisit later if he progresses. The club is on a bit of an u20 full back buying spree at the moment. 4 RB's already, now Caio Roque the Brazilian 18 year old LB.

You'll know better than me, but I don't see us buying a LB. Aké seems like too big a purchase to only get games when Laporte is rested or injured. I don't think they'd have spent that much on him if they didn't expect him to play alongside Laporte sometimes, and that means time at LB or a back 3. On paper he's a much better version of the Delph/Zinchenko type LB we've had so much success with.

Tend to agree, as things stand, Ake, Mendy, Cancelo and Zinchenko is more than enough, with no firm suitors for the latter two.

I'm pretty confident Zinchenko will go for a good fee after Euro 2021. He's absolutely outstanding in their side as a midfielder and they've got a good draw to play some high profile games and impress. Netherlands in the groups and then very likely either Portugal or Italy in the last 16.

He ran the show for them vs. Portugal and Serbia at the end of last year, and if he plays like that again...The perfect shop window. £30m easy.

I know it’s early days but if there was one time to go and get a player you’ve always wanted it would be now with FFP not so much an issue and prices down due to Covid.

Not seeing it quite yet. If the rumours of a 300 million kitty are correct we are going to have a lot of change particularly with the outgoings.

Would have loved to see us get Werner and Havertz and 54 million for Aouar seems a good price to me.
