Seems like Bartomeu just doesn't want to be the guy that lost messi and is prioritising that over the financial health of barca or the potential ugly court battle. Messi's not getting the friendly exit he wanted which has complicated things and I think thats caught City unawares. Thought barca would do the rational thing but instead theyve done the emotional thing.

Where has this NYC link come from ? it is not about us at the moment, there are all kinds of legal things still tying him to barca to sort out
No the transfer is about the CFG and not just us.

He gets a 5 year contract with a percentage in the CFG on completion.

He signs for MCFC for 2 years , then goes to NYCFC and the MLS for 3 years.

There is some debate on the length of time with each club ie maybe 3 years with us , then 2 years NYCFC

So lets assume that Messi, his father and their lawyers have this wrong and he isn't able to walk away from his contract.
Do we just wait a year and then sign him up next year on reduced terms / contract length or do we think this is now or never?
Personally if i came down to waiting a year or getting him now but having to pay £100+ I think i would wait.

I hope the media are planted outside wherever they're meeting.

Then when the meeting is over I want to see/hear immediate quotes from Jorge and Bart (has to be both) that Messi is 100% leaving.

That's the dream scenario. The alternative is refreshing this page until leaks start surfacing in a few hours.

Would be exciting to listen to Bartomeu explaining to Jorge how the season has ended on 30 June - even though Barca have had 7 more La Liga and CL matches since July. While more than 29,000 infected Spanish souls have past away and matches were played behind closed doors. Still everything is like normal?

You don't even need 1 lawyer to close that non-case.
