Maybe because Sevilla cant do anything if the clause is met, ADL is just moving the goal posts all the time from what we are hearing.

Sevilla can choose to accept less than the buyout figure, depends how desperate they are for the cash right now?

The market is correcting all the time and boards are having to take a more pragmatic approach unless you are run by a dick at Napoli.

What?...

Mate, nothing in the world suggests that. He had one good season out of the four years he has been here. One. He racked up mistakes over the years and he never seem to learn from them either. He has a weak mentality, he doesn’t look well, there’s no fighting in him.

Stones is 26 years old and you have guys like Upamecano and De Ligt who’s 4-6 years younger and already proved to be better. We’re waiting for something that will never happen. You just don’t turn 26 overnight and suddenly become a master of reading the game, add physicality to your game and become more aware defensively.
This is probably as good as it gets and it seems it’s not enough for Pep.

We know City wanted to extend with Eric Garcia. We know City are after Koulibaly, and we’ve just signed Aké.
That gives us 2 rightsided and 2 leftsided CBs with Laporte included here.

We also know 35-year old CDM Fernandinho and a 19-year old Garcia comes ahead of Stones in the pecking order. If Stones had any signs of becoming world class and shown glimpses of it, then these two guys would not start ahead of a fit Stones, and we’d have a ton of clubs after him, which we don’t.

There’s nothing world class about John Stones.
So tell me this Upercano kid, whats he won??
Which finals, World, Euros has he stood out in??

Stick every CB in this Pep team they would all make mistakes

Thinking Koulabily coming in & where sorted then for me that ain't happening

Sort LB & HM out & we will be much much better

HM imo especially Rodri isnt quick enough or bold enough to go into areas where odds are 50-50 even 60-40 in hus favour

Not knocking him going forward but early doors moving the ball taking off Ederson or CB we struggle & when we lose it in high areas he is way to slow almost a pedestrian & Gundo not much better

Sort LB & HM then the players like Stones will thrive

2 players imo would make us No 1

Kimmich & Alaba those 2 would be everything we need

Stones & Laporte would love playing with those 2

Not going to happen mind you but that's what this City team needs

Other than a defender, do
You anticipate any other potential business?

There are no concrete deals for people leaving right now aside from Angelino. - Pep still needs to speak to a couple players to let them know where they stand - pretty sure that will ramp up once our own business is sorted.

Stones and Otamendi are in positions of strength on their existing contracts and it will take decent bids to persuade both them and us to let them go.

I'm also sorry to say, Pep has not signed a new contract extension. As Khaldoon recently stated, there is enough mutual respect on both sides to have an adult conversation when the timing is right.

KDB new deal is something the club want to wrap up ASAP.

As for Koulibaly, I can't quite decide if City are now actually pulling Napoli's pisser - I assumed City would get it done eventually but the club are adamant the price ain't right and everything is still through middle men.
Thank you lovely, this Kali deal does seem a bit childish ,it won't get done like this

Just looking at how Upamecano handled forwards in the UCL trying to break into the penalty area is enough to establish that Stones in that situation would’ve put in reverse and backed into the goal. He’s an absolute useless defender in comparison. Upamecano is the next big thing in Europe.

Yes he will, and you wanna know why? Because Stones won’t have any work to do.
As soon as Laporte got injured, Stones was back to his usual self, not knowing what’s left or right. Players like Fernandinho and Laporte makes Stones look good because they do a shitload of work before Stones even get exposed to an attacker, but once he actually need to do his job, he usually fails or does it very poorly.

It’s insane people still haven’t realized this.
I’m starting to think people can’t even tell the difference in quality between Laporte and Stones. Everyone seem to lose their memory when we’re in the middle of a transfer window. ”Keep John, he’s world class on his day”. And then a month later, everyone’s back on the matchthread wishing we’d cut him lose in the window. People forget, or they smash the resetbutton after the last game of the season. Next season, we’ll see a NEW Stones. Nope, still the same guy.

oh wow

If Goretzka was on steroids then 1) they wouldn't be showing it off, and 2) everyone's on something.
He did this in a couple months. That’s not a natural transformation
