@tolmie's hairdoo You said when the media says the bid is made that is the day our bid is accepted. Is it now ?

Romano knows absolutely shit, he's an aggregator at best, recycling and repackaging rumours, piggy backing on transfer sagas to such an extent, he makes it sound as though he were the originator.

Funny how he didn't have the actual inside track on City wanting Kane when it emerged, must have been a
off that day and decided to avail us all of his inside knowledge of City ever since.

I have worked solidly for 30 years cultivating sources at just a very small handful of clubs, it is just impossible in this day and age for people like Romano to claim to be across football transfers as a whole.

Especially when clubs wrestled power away from journalists more than a decade ago and don't need them for anything, aside from chucking the odd steer or brief to a trusted few, certainly not someone who wants to monetize it themselves on Twitter.

He's a grade A blagger, I've worked around enough down the years and he wreaks of it.

Fair play to him for creating a platform but people such as he wishes to be perceived, don't exist in the game.

For 100m plus one of Sterling, Laporte or Jesus?
Fucking right I wouldn't want him for a deal like that.
100m all in would be a risk but one probably worth making due to his quality. Throwing in any of our top players as a sweetener wouldn't be worth it at all.

I'm pretty sure the reports mentioning a deal as daft as that are nonsense, it'd be nice to think that we aren't in the business of basically giving away one of our best assets.
It is not 100m plus a player. Just 100m then we can sell them one of those players separately

But why would arguably the most well known football “insider” risk his reputation making up this story with exact figures etc. It just wouldn’t make sense imo as city especially would be quick to rubbish reports and Romano would lose creditability when he had no reason to make this story up in the first place.

Just look at the all the leaks from spurs managerial search coming from Italy I suspect the new dof at spurs has a very big mouth so my gut thinks details of this bid is correct personally

Why would a man who makes money off tweeting 100 rumours a day and spewing bollocks on his podcast try to drum up a transfer story?

I don't know, you tell me.

Romano fires as much shit as possible at the wall and usually the stuff that sticks is stuff he's stolen from local journalists and taken as his own, something he's getting called out for more and more often.

This is what annoys me the most, that 3 million people are gullible enough to think a 28 year old brat who worked for 2 years at Sky Italia is somehow the most connected man in football.

The Daily Mail is the most read news website in the world.

The Sun is the most read paper in the country.

If you're so stupid that you think popularity makes you reliable, then you're exactly the kind of person who falls for Romano's bullshit.

I'll be perfectly happy if/when we sign Kane, but Fabrizio Romano won't be the one breaking the story.

mmmhmmm.

Lunch time is over, go back to school.

Everything he said was right about that deal it was all set to be announced ya silly old fool. Literally every single report stated it was pulled at the last second. Nice try tho domino

Every reliable report says it was pulled because Paratici wanted Gattuso. Which is why Romano saying Fonseca was Paratici's choice was bullshit.

“£100m guaranteed as a fee”
Certainly sounds like it’s £100m + a player.
Probably worded badly on purpose so he can claim to be right either way.
