what happened to the new club sponsorship or the renewal of the old etihad deal that was in the pipe line
i know we had a extension for this season. but i heard the new deal was close and a 10 year deal worth close to £900million was going to be made public soon

maybe the funds for a striker (kane) could be loaned on the back of that deal then pay it up next season

Might be a little too negative right now, but what the hell has Txiki & Omar been doing the last 6 months since it was clear Agüero was leaving? 2 games in to the new season and still no replacement. Grealish had a release clause but we still waited until hours before our first game to sign him instead of doing it weeks/months ago. Apparently several first teamers wants to move and with 2 weeks left of the window they are all still here.
Have our whole recruitment team been on vacation all year or whats their excuse to why they cant manage to sort at least most of this out before the season starts when they had half a year to do so? Acting slow may have already cost us a trophy in CS (even if its not a ”real” one) and a league game. Even if we get Kane before the deadline ends, it may take a few weeks before he learns how to play in our system. The difference between having it done early and late could be finishing 1st or 4th.
On top of all this we are letting half of our squad return so late from holiday they are not even match fit when the season starts.

Does our management think we will win the league with 10-20 points every year so we can afford to throw away some games in the beginning? I've always thought the club have been acting like the benchmark of how professional a club should be run, but this summer I get more of the feeling we are acting like amateurs.
We could still end up winning everything, but why are we giving our rivals a head start?

I understand your frustration pal, but making a business acquisition for over £100m, when the other business has a much higher value on the acquisition isn’t like popping to Tesco’s to buy a pint of milk. I’m sure I’m teaching you how to suck eggs when I say negotiations will be long & drawn out

You seem very sure of how easy it is to do these tasks. I presume you work in the industry?
If not, stop talking nonsense.

Doesn't matter what Grealish's release clause is, it doesn't work the same way as it does in Spain AFAIK and the player is immediately released from their contract. 100m was simply an agreed price Villa would sit down and talk over. They wanted time to get their own transfers in and Grealish spent a grand total of 3 days with Villa training before he joined us. Unless of course you think if we bought him months ago he would have quit his holidays and flown in?

As for Kane, we are talking about a record breaking transfer here. Not signing Peter Crouch. If you think its as easy as picking up the phone and shouting at Levy to accept 150m you are very deluded.

Giving our rivals a head start?

Is it unexpected that the rags battered leeds, chelsea battered palace or the dippers beat norwich?
I don't think so. We had by far the toughest game at the start.
I dont work within football but other than that you pressume correct. I am very familiar with buying/selling businesses and/or assets in my work, with numbers in the same ballpark as these. Are you? If not, stop talking nonsense.

Grealish could have been done before his holiday. And many seem to think a player cant take a day of his vacation to sign a deal worth millions. Or that a deal must be signed in our office. I would argue that a player that cant even take a day off to sign a deal worth maybe 100m is not interested enough anyway.

They wanted Kane for 6 months now (probably longer than that). The deal is no different from any other transfer, all that is different is the price. It can be agreed in an hour or it can take months. But you have to set a deadline or move on with alternatives. Thats how we usually do business.

We are giving our rivals a head start by not giving ourselves the best possible conditions to start the season, not by having worse fixtures.

I haven’t got used to it yet, I’m still surprised every time we get over the 40 point mark.
Last seasons run of none defeats was almost the reason for me to change my cynical uncertainty about my City support.
Then came the losses that delayed our PL win and back I went into historical normality.
Needless to say I am used to supporting City so hope against hope we get someone as a striker who can actually strike so that blaming defence members for not scoring ourselves can help to restore my expectation that a winning City may actually return.
I like that feeling.

Yeah there are a lot of posters that don't seem to have much faith in the club. They're entitled to that opinion, but it's a shame.
Mainly its coming from posters who have very low post counts.
Now call me old fashioned and a cynic but ..........................

If I was playing in the City defense, no matter if I was Dias, Stones, Ake, Mendy, THB or Sandler, I'd be fucking fuming with the quality of our finishing.

If we put away our chances the game plays out differently.

But we don't and then we fuck up after over committing players forward and being screwed on the break.

It happens that often it's now a trope!!!
