Totally agree, especially this bit

Some of the posters seem to have lost any perspective of why we watch football and live sport. If we couldn’t have bad day, periods, losses it isn’t sport. Fortunately we now have many more good than bad, its’s a great time to be a City fan maybe best ever, it probably won’t get better so if this isn’t enough and you can’t enjoy it, then what ?
What I struggle to deal with most is the purpose of being a fan. Moments after a loss, the entire forum is filled with comments like "Pep's arrogance is back, he can't put aside his ego", "I just don't understand why we didn't play the best XI, even though half the squad has trained together for the first time 2 days before the match", "this 20 yr old bought for 20 mil, playing out of position is a fraud", etc.

Like if as a fan you're not even attempting to rationalize the decisions taken by the club manager and especially someone as decorated as Pep, someone genuinely loves the club and goes to war with the media every week trying to defend us, then what is the point?

If you, as a fan, are not willing to be empathetic towards players who have won so many trophies for us, brought so much joy, who give their 100% nearly every match, then who else is gonna do it? Rival supporters? The media?

I don't get the fan vs the club mentality at all. As if as a fan, I'm entitled to perfect performances every week and everyone at the club is slave to my demands. As if every mistake is a personal humiliation and all the cuplrits should flogged in the market square. Because the threads after a loss really feel like that. I look at other clubs filled to the brim with players who are absolute disrespectful hacks and I feel blessed that we've such a great squad. I learned yesterday that an Arsenal player (Torreira) was posting selfies from Disneyworld or some shite while they're losing 2-0 to Brentford. Can you imagine Bernardo doing something like that?

And I'm not referring to legit criticism of players' performances because that's warranted sometimes. Maybe Sterling or Jesus or Torres or whoever hasn't performed well so people might have opinions on that. It's all good as long as it's coming from a place of good intention and there's an actual attempt at expressing their opinion. But the hate, anger and outrage that I see - it's incomprehensible.

The issue on this deal is not City, it's down to the Kane's and particularly Charlie Kane.

They did not get a release clause in writing put into that 6 year contract, greedy, naïve, stupid? Who knows.

If Kane had a release clause this deal may well have been concluded months ago, as it is, looks like it's going down to the wire and Spurs are dictating the terms.
Charlie Kane is Harrys agent and only do what Harry tells him to do. Not having a release clause in the contract is not the agents fault, its a decision made by Harry. Which at the time was probably compensated with giving Harry a higher salary and/or loyalty/sign-on bonus than if he would have insisted on having a releasu clause in paper.

What I am saying is that in my opinion, you should set a deadline. If you cant agree on a price before that deadline runs out you move on with other targets. If Spurs refuse to sell, no problem, keep him and we find another club that wants our money for their striker.

1 - About 5 months, but thats including ~2 months of raised capital through a new share issue and ~1 month preparation for the extraordinary general meeting, none of which are necessary in a deal like this. Just agreeing on a price (approximately) should not take more than a few weeks from when negotiations starts. But again, this how it can work if you buy or sell a business, buying a football player is obviously a bit different.

2 - I dont know since I was obviously not involved. My guess is that they tried (and failed) to get him for a fee lower than the release clause.

3 - I would have preferred if he would have got more than one training session with the team before the first game. You seem to think its more than enough. I guess we disagree.

4 - What you are writing makes zero sense and it seems you are trying your best to misapprehend what I meant. Either that or you are just stupid.

5 - Basically the same for all other top teams. They could still have returned a week sooner, like Grealish did. But that doesnt have anything to do with the recruitment team, and thats just my personal opinion.
For all we know, a fee has been agreed, I would think it would be leaked but sometimes you just don't know. Looks like everyone knows what the price is and spuds been linked with 50m+ defenders is not Levy deciding to open the bank imo. The issue for spuds is that no one wants to sign for them and for a man obessed with his image that simply won't do for Levy. Everyone at City seems pretty relaxed about the situation so I have no reason not to be.

I think its widely accepted that there was no chance any sort of agreement would become public till after the game yesterday so lets see how the next few days go.

What have I written that makes zero sense, I presume this is in reply to me saying lets kick off at 9am?
If so, its just pure nonsense as is this line of "we have given our rivals a headstart". Its one game. Fucking hell, we were 13th at one point last year and for all of the "X will be stronger this year, Y has never been better " its football, anything can happen.

Its not the same for all the top teams at all, we had more combined minutes than any other club in 2021. I have seen mentions of Maguire and Shaw playing at the weekend as a reason to bash Pep for not playing Stones and Walker, like everything, we will soon find out who was right but would anyone really bet against Pep making the right call considering what he has done since he arrived in terms of preparing teams and players to go deep in 4 competitions every year?

also, regardless of your opinion, perhaps you don't need to resort to name calling?

Once and for all.

Kane’s brother Charlie, owner of sports management business CK66 Ltd, has officially represented the England striker since December 2018. But Kane’s agent at the time of the June 2018 contract was Marlon Fleischman - although Charlie was believed to have worked alongside Fleischman when the contract was signed. But Marlon Fleischman is an experienced agent and he should take any flak going for not inserting clauses into the contract.
