You can’t think of one, because there isn’t one out there other than stop gaps thats use up money and gum up the squad for the future. Pretty sure we’ll get Kane, if we don’t though we wait until we can get somebody good enough.
Insofar as this logic goes - perhaps you're right.
On the other hand - going into this window we needed a striker, a LB (or 2) and a DM. So far, we haven't signed anyone for these positions. Meanwhile - our transfer window has been occupied by a massively expensive luxury move for Grealish (love the player - but why did we pursue him at the seeming expense of of other signings?) - and a mano-a-mano face-off with Levy over Kane. At best well get Kane having spent a ton of money - 50-50 that we won't even get Kane.
I've been banned for a week from this thread for expressing this following opinion much earlier on... but I'll repeat...
This transfer window has all the hallmarks of being a disaster for City.

That said, we can only recruit what's on offer. I guess City feel that there are no quality LB, DM worth pursuing. The impact of COVID undoubtedly complicates this transfer window.
Nonetheless - even if we somehow manage to sign Kane, I think we're a weaker squad than last year - meanwhile most of our opponents have obviously strengthened.
To the extent that:
1) I don't think we'll win the P/L;
2) Ditto C/L;
3) 3rd or 4th P/L and Group Stage C/L looks about right in terms of expectations (but see below for amended C/L expectations). Probably won't win a cup this year.

Bookmark this post if you will - I'll come back to this at end-of-season for those who disagree.

And to those who accuse me of "flapping" - well, IMO, flapping is a knee-jerk immediate response based on emotion to very recent events.
Whereas - the opinion I expressed above is month's long - it isn't some sort of knee-jerk response - it's my considered opinion from the very start of the xfer window.
