It's Quiet Thread 15 - Txiki Blinders

4D chess by Txiki forcing United to the table to get United paying over £40m per year on the books for the next 2 years on Ronaldo. This will cripple United to actualy upgrade where they need to : midfield.
They didn't need Ronaldo but went for him anyway. You'll never stop united spending because they always seem to be able to sell fringe players to stupid clubs for stupid money

I am always interested in how some posters view the window as a shambles when the only players that they think we are in for are those who have a story created on Twitter. I never hear transfer speculation from the club itself, or very rarely. It is really unusual for Pep to speak but when he says Spurs simply will not negotiate, why do some posters consider that to be Txiki's failing? If we want a player but the player's club doesn't want to sell and won't consider bids, that is the end of it.

Personally, we have signed one of the last few seasons' top PL players - one who creates chances galore, taking the immediate pressure off KDB, who is now 30, and giving a more direct option on the left side, allowing Foden to play more centrally. If that's it, I will be more than happy with the window.

I don't think any of his fans would suggest otherwise,we have plenty of brilliant cover in his position. My argument is that if we were looking....he is someone who entertains and who would bring something that bit different.
he always looks dangerous , especially against us with our high line, a very exciting player to watch, if pep could teach him how and when to pass and shoot he would be a 150m player, i just dont think hes shown hes capable of thinking at the right times though

Especially if the dippers walk in and take him? We should have stacks of cash left so should at least boost the two other areas of concern now in DM and LB? If we got bissouma and nuno now then them two positions are set for years to come?
Definitely and the selling club have already released their valuations. We are not desperate regardless of the Mendy situation but we all know it’s not going to happen.

The transfer window is closing with a whimper unfortunately. When the prizes are lifted in May we will regret our inability to get these deals done.

Would be a shit window if we don’t at least get a LB as although grealish is great, we have thrown pep under the bus with no world class striker AGAIN! Obviously there is no striker coming in now so we could at least finally sort the left back problem out?
We have a front line of Gabby, Grealish, Torres, Mahrez, Raz, and Phil. It is very difficult to improve upon that. You may want more of a conventional striker but it won't necessarily improve on that.

Does @Big Dave Watson work at the club or does he just have amazing guesses? Because annoyingly he’s not been wrong if we are or aren’t signing anyone?!
This is in the Erling Haaland thread.

He isn't 100% accurate with his guesses either (or even 99.9%). He announced that Cancelo would be our last signing in summer 2019, only for Scott Carson to arrive a short time after.

He was wrong with his pessimistic guess about the outcome of the CAS appeal also.

Definitely not ITK, but likes everyone to think he is.

Not convinced we need bissouma. We've extended dinho's contract too so it's be silly to relegate him to third choice.

Getting a left back now lowers the burden from the next window where we need to get a striker and a DM so I think that's sensible

I’ll be amazed if non of the big clubs go for Bissouma this window. City, United and Liverpool need an extra body in that area.

Yeah I don’t think we will get the title this season unfortunately and I’ll probably get pelters for this but I think Chelsea will win it and the rags will get second with us third? Can’t deny the rags have improved their squad and Ronaldo will bag them a load of goals .

I understand the reasoning however this window we have 3 areas that needed addressed:

CDM
LB
Forward

Jack is fantastic and he will improve the team but the 3 positions above weaken our chances to lift the champions league and we may come up short this season in the league.

So the question is why after winning the league has the club stood still again? We have the money but won’t spend it on area’s that need improvement instead we spend our time chasing United players and unobtainable superstars.

Go and buy 3 good players and stop getting caught up and used by selling/buying clubs who have no intention of selling to city.
