We have 3 superb kids in the EDS for those positions, they will obviously be 12 months more developed by that time too.It could be excellent timing......

Plenty of reason for optimism.

We do, but I'm not so sure Pep is going to blood them enough this coming season for them to integrate in 12 months time.

I don't know about other City fans, but I spend a lot of the second half of games - especially ones where we are winning comfortably - hoping for an academy player to come on. Palmer or Doyle could have come on against Arsenal. Unfortunately I don't think Doyle will make it at City even though he is always around the first team. Would love to be wrong.

4-0 up at 53 minutes against 10 men. There will not be many better chances to blood young players.

I agree with wanting the kids to come on but at this stage after the summer break the established players still need minutes in their legs.

Must admit that I thought this would be the window when we finally addressed that position.
It's not as desperate as we make out. The problem is that we day that Zinchenko isn't a left back so really we don't have any and are playing make shift.

But the lad has played there now longer than he's played anywhere else on his career.

Yep,that pissed me off too.

Even if they do get limited time this season, they can still be a part of preseason and integration would be no different to an incoming transfer would it?

Two are very well known to most City fans......Lavia and Delap

The left backs are Dionkou and Wilson-Esbrand.

There are many others, very capable in other positions,if their development is handled correctly.
Hasn’t Dionkou left the club? Saw something last night I think it was

Grealish had a buyout of 100 million straight which was even explained on video by Villa. 82 million plus add ons suggests a negotiation.

This aside the Haaland to us in January doesn’t make sense in that before any agreement is made there is likely to be a bidding war which hasn’t even started yet.

Sorry just not going for this. The pursuit of Kane would make zero sense if Haaland was lined up…what if this “cheeky bid” had been accepted? City say we were just having a laugh? Whats the point of the bid in the first place?

Story has so many holes it’s silly.
During my working career I've not been involved in too many multi million pound deals but the ones I knew were long and uncertain with red herrings everywhere regarding what was actually happening. By the time it actually got to bidding or dare I say competitive tendering decisions had already been made.

I realise football is different iin many ways but when it comes to potential big money deals the actual transfer window is merely a vehicle to carry out the deal and not the start of its process.
