It is an assumption that there is any reality in which we would. No different to assuming we would buy 5 top strikers and not play them in any competition.

So is it a fact we could sign another player to play in the PL without selling anyone or not?

It’s a really simple question mate, it only requires a yes or no. Nothing to do with assumptions to suit point of view.

Mendy Out (on loan probably)
Aguero Out (confirmed)
Ferna will likely stay
I think there will probably be 1 surprise departure as well (Sterling or Jesus maybe)

Clearly the answer is yes.

So what I’ve been saying is factually correct.

That doesn’t mean it will or I think it will happen, but this was the original point. Can we sign another player without losing anyone, yes absolutely

However, I’ll add a caveat that if the club believes that having an extra player in the PL (& therefore LC & FA cup) will mean we have a better chance of winning the lot, I wouldn’t put it past them making this decision.

Especially with ACON next season, meaning we’ll lose Mahrez for a while & potential extra games in the Euro Super Cup & World Club Cup should we win the CL final.

I said we wouldn't, not that we can't. And that it was a pointless fact, as it only applies to one competition and the club builds teams for all. So it is completely irrelevant.

We both know the rules. The selective 'we could' hypothetical really is meaningless and you acknowledge as much yourself. I really don't get why it means so much to you, but there really is no point to it as it just isn't what the club would do.
