Totally agree, even more so in the present conditions, but IF we have players that want to move on, I could see something happening.

More likely Grealish if suddenly a madness happens and Bernardo goes or Raz goes. Of course this is just my opinion, but I get the sense Pep doesn't want anymore 'project' players. He wants players who can just step in and hit the ground running.

I have a very strong feeling that Chelsea will push to get Haaland......they are more than capable of throwing a bid at Dortmund that they would be crazy to refuse......

No way Kane goes from Spurs to Chelsea

Ive always said Id much rather have Haaland than Kane but it seems the powers at be and more importantly Pep has decided that they/he would rather have Kane than Haaland....i just cant see it personally except down to the prem experience part but for me with someone like Haaland I dont think that matters
It’s all about Pep’s last two years and giving him a player that can fit right in from the off. As I have said previously when Pep leaves we are left with a player that’s nearly 30. We should be looking beyond two years and going all out for Haaland and pays what it takes. But I suspect they will go with Kane, but just don’t see the longer term value in it.

Quite a few journalists running with the story that conte only joins spurs if he is assured Kane stays.

with lukaku announcing he is staying at inter yesterday, Kane likely to stay assuming spurs get the conte deal done and haaland not available until next summer I am wondering who are the alternatives?

There must be a top striker somewhere in Europe who we can target, I notice the links to Andre silva but can’t help but be concerned at his record away from Frankfurt. Ings another potential target imo is just not good enough to replace Sergio.

Its looking more and more likely we where very premature to release Sergio . Hoping someone with much more knowledge of the European leagues can find me an alternative to the aforementioned three world class strikers so I can see there is at least options out there. Otherwise can’t help but feel it is the Kompany scenario all over again.

Before anyone suggests felix I mean a proper striker not another Jesus type, good players just not clinical goal scorers

Conte can insist on what he likes,if Kane wants to go he will go,imo.
Conte ain't gonna turn Spuds into world beaters over night and Kane will know that.
I couldn't think of anything worse than your main man downing tools.
Not saying Kane would do that, but if he did,Spuds will seriously struggle and be out of pocket......£790m debt apparentl, highest in Europe.
I don't think Levy is as smart as some make out.

Personally think Felix would be sensational in this team

It's a luxury problem tbf. Do we take the current best 9 in the league, or do we take the guy who is going to be the best 9 over possibly the next decade. I can understand why Pep wants Kane, and I reckon it's for the reasons you say.

The good thing is that we're not the sort of club that 'sells' it's best players to replace them (financially). So if we have to go again in two or three years we will most certainly do that. I've the feeling that when Pep leaves, he will leave a club capable from a footballing and financial point of view, of signing anyone in the world.

Aren't we already in that position?

I think a lot depends on City's approach. Every player can be bought. Just make a deal they can't refuse.
The issue is we don't do business that way. Maguire is good but was never worth 80, so was Pogba not worth 90. Coutinho not worth 130 and hazard not worth 100. These clubs made can offer the selling club couldn't refuse.

But if we stay true to our frugal self, it will be very difficult to strike a deal.

It is a tight rope the club is walking on right on between the promise to bring Pep a world class striker and the general covid market and selling clubs quoting us some crazy figures. Conte coming is a bit of an issue.

So I am not very hopeful of such deals and understand the reasoning of it. At the end of the day Txiki can surprise us all with Kane coming in for a 110 mil and add-on deals.

Still think Felix will be in blue next season.

It is an intersting one and that thought comes and goes with me every so often.

On the one hand, totally financially impossible as a deal. I see no real chance of it

On the other, type and profile of player, previous interest, isn't fitting in at atletico and they need money.

I can almost see tixi pulling off a fee for felix this season and going for haaland next with the release clause, as being more likely than us signing both kane and graelish this season. Almost. Personal gut feeling, nothing more btw.

Think Grealish is the least likely on that list tbh. For a myriad of reasons. But I see he has a lot of big big fans on the forum. I like him too, he's a to player. But he's not a must at City for me, not by a long stretch.
So are you now saying we're not in for Grealish is your opinion and not what the club have said?
