What I question is that how it actually works?
Like any other sale process, whereby the buyer pays as little as it can but ultimately more than any other party can / would and the asset owners (the sellers) take from that price whatever is due to them.
Thus if the €65M release clause is due to Dortmund and the difference between €65M and market value (the most that a buying club is willing to pay) is due to Haaland & Co, then Dortmund will want their €65M and Haaland & Co will want the difference between that and the market value.
Haaland will not be sold for less that full market value and if you can understand that, and stip believing that his market value will magically reduce if the reduced fee kicks in, then you’ve graduated from Hogwarts.
There are no magic beans, no ‘do it now and Haaland’s crew or Dortmund will be happy to wave goodbye to tens of €millions’.
Also, no Father Christmas and no tooth fairy (the latter of which I was very sad to learn as I’ve got a loose molar).
