Mate I am certainly NOT trolling. We all come on here to air our opinion (rightly or wrongly). Sadly we don't always agree which makes for a better debate. But, we are allowed our own opinion surely? Otherwise what is the point? Iv'e been a member for years but spent many as a voyeur because some of the vitriol on here is downright uncalled for. The power of this site lies in people's ability to air their own individual view and contribute, nothing more nothing less.

Pep might have been out gunned with Sergio. Releasing one of our highest earners, injury prone, tail end of career might have been a decision made by others he had to live with. Plus, no way a Kane or Haaland come with Sergio still here.

Probably because one of our top 5 players of all time was not particularly wanted by Pep.

Why does it have to be anything other than it was the right time for both parties to move on? Kun barely played football this year. We couldn't give him a new deal with the role and money he wanted and he in turn wanted to give it a shot elsewhere. These things happen, it doesn't have to be a big drama.

If we can't get a swap or big money for Laporte, Sterling, or Bernardo, I think the best option is to buy a low price striker (Silva would be nice I guess, or an experienced old top striker like Cavani) and then go for a top winger like Coman. Then go for Haaland next summer

I think our club now only buys players who will improve our squad. I don't think they will look to buy a cheap option, to replace a player that Khaldoon regards as the best striker in the EPL over the past ten years.

It also wouldn't surprise me that the decision was made to buy a big name replacement, which is why Aguero was tapped on the should some time ago.

I was referring to us not going for a cheap option as a striker, which will of course improve our first X1, and our squad depth, because Pep picks his side on formation usually.

The last 3-4 windows we have bought a lot of good players, but far too many have played a supporting role and not enough staring roles.

And also by instantly improving the first 11, you naturally improve the squad, or organically improve it a word Ferran and Khaldoon like to use.

This exactly not only would they not come with him here but wages would be a problem. Sergio leaving opens that avenue up.

Striker and... For me a central midfielder that can play across all front 5 positions is more useful than a athletic midfielder that plays mainly in the DM posistion. Just for the fact that I think we need someone creative more than energy at the back. So I hope we go for Grealish rather than Bissouma/Zakaria/Luiz.

with lukaku announcing he is staying at inter yesterday, Kane likely to stay assuming spurs get the conte deal done and haaland not available until next summer I am wondering who are the alternatives?

There must be a top striker somewhere in Europe who we can target, I notice the links to Andre silva but can’t help but be concerned at his record away from Frankfurt. Ings another potential target imo is just not good enough to replace Sergio.

Its looking more and more likely we where very premature to release Sergio . Hoping someone with much more knowledge of the European leagues can find me an alternative to the aforementioned three world class strikers so I can see there is at least options out there. Otherwise can’t help but feel it is the Kompany scenario all over again.

Before anyone suggests felix I mean a proper striker not another Jesus type, good players just not clinical goal scorers
