It's Quiet Thread 4

Big-spenders Manchester City are set to splash the cash again in the transfer market as they look to add a defender in the form of David Luiz to their squad before the close of the transfer window, according to reports.

A Bola reports that the Premier League club are keen on landing the Benfica defender despite reportedly having a €32 million offer rejected for the 23-year-old last month. The centre-back has been linked with English champions Chelsea and Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid too, but it appears that Man City are ready to try their luck with the player once again.

It's been reported that City had a representative at the Portuguese Super Cup match between Benfica and Porto in Aveiro on Saturday night and it appears that the club from Eastlands are very impressed with the player and want to sign him. An improved offer of €40m could be made in the coming days.

Luiz is currently with the Brazilian national side, who will take on the USA in an international friendly in New York on Tuesday evening.

Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted-One moment
Would you capture it or just let it slip?

There are three weeks to go of the window, it would be quite rude of the city big wigs to have completed all business already.

I'll go bump the Sneijder thread.

Because the Summer transfer window is about as good as it gets for us, particularly this window. We are signing players we never thought would ever see play in a City shirt. Let us just enjoy our dreaming before a 3-1 loss on Saturday brings the reality of supporting City back to us!
