How good they were before Pep? Messi was a winger and Xavi with Iniesta were more often on the bench than on the pitch! With fat and lazy Ronaldo and Deco in Barca's starting XI! Or young boys like Pedro or Busquets! Or Tello and Cuenca last season!

Yes it took Ferguson 5 years to win anything with the rags. Mancini has 3 trophys in 3 years. It took the Rags 10 years to win the Champions League it's only our 2nd season. He's got a ( year deal lets him see it out. Mancini will know what he needs hopefully with Marwood out of the picture this new guy will give him what he wants.

They won La Liga in 2005 and 2006 and the European Cup in 2006. They had Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Messi as a front three with Larsson on the bench. Puyol was in his prime and, along with Canivarro, was the best centre half in the world.
