talking to an everton fan while working in liverpool yesterday.
according to him there is no takeover imminent at liverpool and he reckons gerrard will have to go as he's been bad mouthing benitez.
he said if gerrard does go, and he said he could see torres coming here, that the arse will fall out of that club like nothing you've seen before!

does anyone else think that the ibra deal is the most likley barca all but signed villa also in pole position to sign fabregas they are gonna have to sell players to finance these deals then theres also the point of do barca want to fuck us about with prices and lenght on negotions barca believe they can get cesc for £30 millon arsenal want £50 million there's only 1 other team that has shown a interest in cesc and 1 team that could bang the price up for barca by putting a big bid in for cesc and thats us not for 1 minuate saying we are going to buy cesc or are remotley intrested in siging him just that if barca want to play hard ball with us over ibra then we could just scupper all there transfer plans as i said early i think city hold all the aces over this deal?

Yeah, don't see how anyone could think there would be a takeover imminent - you'd have to take on all their debts both the massive ones to the bank and the not unsubstantial one to Kop Cayman, pay off Benitez (or worse, keep him!) and build the new stadium from scratch too, all in the face of a masssively demanding fanbase who are now ultra-suspicious of investors in their club and will be scrutinising your every move. Oh and then when you've made all that huge financial outlay on top of the price you've paid for the club itself, you've gotta fund transfers to tune of a fair few tens of million too.

No decent businessman would touch it with a ten foot barge pole. To which the scousers inevitably reply ''oh but we're Liverpoooool, we're one of the biggest clubs in the werld, we're an excellent revenue stream'' Yeah? Hasn't seemed to help much with all the financial mess so far, has it....?
 
The only potential for a signing today I can see is Jerome Boateng as it's clearly looking good that we'll get him to join us sooner ratehr than later. As for anything else, well the season only ended about 10 days or so ago, and some European leagues only ended this past weekend, so I really don't think there will be any real movement on the transfer front for at least a couple more weeks.
