We will start at the begining, I am running Vista Basic on my laptop and plugged in my Iphone to update to ios5. At the same time it wanted to update to itunes 10.5. Now the phone took the software upgrade but itunes has not installed and will not open. I tried to uninstall itunes and it would not let me as it said it was installing a new version. I saved all my useful stuff and decided to reinstall windows from the recovery disc. This failed but I could boot the system from the dvd. However I could not get the wlan drivers to load but could get on line via Ethernet cable, went to Microsoft.com and asked for windows updates however it wants to install an update for windows updates and it will not install ( screen freezes) but comes back to life on Ctl, Alt Del. Tried for a clean install again to be told half way thru that it could not be done as “files were missing”. So there it is, any ideas?
