iTunes help?

On iTunes, I have'nt given them any credit card details or ANYTHING at all that they could take money from (I picked 'None' as a payment method when signing up), now what happens if I try to BUY something on iTunes?

Will iTunes stop me from downloading the file or will the money just go on a sort of waiting list for when I check in an iTunes card or something?
