He was a heroin addict and yet the public still allowed him to become very successful, he was funny because unique in his own way.

That uniqueness quickly became monotomous and the kind of behaviour this thread is addressing is the reason why people now hate him... nothing to do with what he wears, who he shags or what he does for a job.

His attitude stinks, he's not apologised and he seems to try really hard to try and seem clever.

The guys seems a complete and utter shithole... Other than himself and a few other cretins i don't think anyone really finds what he's done in the least bit funny.

He is an acquired taste, that's obvious but I do genuinely find the guy funny, I've seen him do stand up, listened to his radio show and seen him in a few roles on tv and I can honestly say I've enjoyed them all.

Granted he may have gone too far in some peoples eyes but compared to some of his former stunts this doesnt really warrant a mention as far as I'm concerned. It's really a nothing story that's been blown out of all proportion for reasons unknown to me.

End of the day I like the guy but yeah I'll concede that he's perhaps gone a bit too far in the general publics eyes this time.

True, although given his background and previous stunts he's pulled this doesnt so much as warrant a mention for me. He's just a guy out there doing what he does and for whatever reason he's become very succesful because of it. It's the typical british attitude where we have to hate a winner, if Brand was pig ugly and mediocre we'd love him cos bless us we all love a 'tryer'.

At lunchtime when I saw it on the news there'd been about 60 complaints, but as the story has rolled through the day apparently now there's been over 1500.

It's got nothing to do with if Brand is or isn't funny, TMQ. It's to do with overstepping the mark. A total lack of respect, even if he has done as he claimed, to make that call was out of order. Would it still be funny if he was saying it about YOUR granddaughter/daughter/sister whatever, on your answerphone, with millions listening?
Ross and Brand should both have their contracts ripped up.

Brand called a police crime hotline whilst on stage doing one of his ever-so-funny shows in July and wasted a policewomans time giving false information about someone he claimed was responsible for a series of assaults in Northampton.
