Man City's Ivory Coast kid Abdul Razak wants to play for England

Manchester City's Ivory Coast youngster Abdul Razak wants to play for England.

The People says he has already pushed his way into Roberto Mancini’s plans and is now looking to get into the Three Lions’ Under-21 set-up – encouraged by City.

The FA need to establish more facts about his availability, but if Razak gets the all-clear, the African could soon be in Stuart Pearce’s squad.

Just what they need, at the right time. Just as Lampard and Gerrard are going into terminal decline they need someone like Razak, hopefully he'll get a chance in the U21s.

He will do exactly what Frimpong did and use the England youth set ups for international experience and then once he is ready go and play for IC senior side

Fucking awful news.

Lets just put City aside for 1 minute. This kid was born in the Ivory Coast, not England, he isn't English!!

This stinks and should this happen it will put an end to my following of the national team, it simply isn't fair.

Playing for England is the biggest honour an English kid will have, this reduces the chances for English kids getting to play for THEIR country.

I am pretty sure that getting a call up from England would also be worth far more than getting a call up for the Ivory Coast with regards contract negotiations, which I am also certain has had an impact on his decsion making.

(if true)

What are you worried about John barnes was/is Jamaican. Onouha was/is Nigerian. Michael Owen is Welsh. Hargreaves is Canadian/American/German/English/Scottish. 2 of Italy's world cup winners were not Italian by birth. Deco and Jardel were Brazilian but took nationality to play for Portugal. If this worried you so much you should of stopped watching international football 50 years ago when Alfredo Di Stefano changed football nations twice to play in the WC

Utter rubbish! The England national team always has been and always will be a joke. Its a business that provides the FA with advertising revenue, it has nothing to do with football. The team is picked on players names and clubs, not for the players ability or form, an England call up now is worth fuck all.
