Ivory Coast kid Abdul Razak wants to play for England

Honestly it kind of ruins international football. He is from Ivory Coast and should be playing for his respective origin country. Imagine in 15 years time, the England squad could be made up of players all across the globe and would seem like club football. Arteta,Almunia and now Razak all want to play for England despite the fact they are not English. That causes a big problem for all international countries because the players can now choose where they want to play because they have been in a country for a certain amount of time. Imagine Beckham turned around and said he wants to play for the U.S because he isn't getting enough game time for England or imagine Lionel Messi states that he wants to play for Spain because he isn't winning any trophies with Argentina. It completely ruins International football because now we've done it, many other countries will try to as well. In conclusion players should only be playing for there origin countries.

Its been going on for years and years its hardly new is it? You're example is also stupid as Messi can't ever represent Spain and Beckham can't ever represent USA.

Fucking awful news.

This stinks and should this happen it will put an end to my following of the national team, it simply isn't fair.

Me too mate, I'm going to start watching England at cricket instead.

Becoming more and more common place in international sport never mind just football. If a player is good enough the rules are bent by the associations to get them in. Smaller countries always lose top youngster to bigger countries. France and Germany are two of the biggest examples of it.

You can only play for 1 country after you play a match you are tied to that country. Also some people do have 3 countries of choice to play from i.e mum and dad from different countries meet in a 3rd country where you are born that means when you grow up you could play for 3 different countries ala Hargreaves. I do wish people wouldnt say "hopefully this will be the end of international football" fine you dont like it but at least its football during the summer in tournaments rather than Cricket and middle class tweed wearing half gays shouting "Come on Andy" at Wimbledon

I know it isn't new but I am saying it could escalate with more international stars wanting to play for other countries. I know Messi and Becks cant play for other clubs but I Meant the future Messi or the future Beckham wanting to play for another club.

I don't mind, if he's good enough and wants to play for England i'm more than happy to let him so long as it's within the rules.

The option has always been there for people who are eligable to play for other nations and it hasnt escalated so why would it suddenly begin to do so now?

International football means nothing. I want to see Wayne Rooney get snapped in half and Manchester United to never win another football match, but if he sticks on an England shirt and underperforms for the 400th match in a row, I have to stand there with a red cross painted on my face chanting his name..........not going to happen

No one forces you to do that. I go to alot of England matches but i will never cheer or chant the name of a Utd player almost had a fight with a cockney red for calling Rooney some choice names before the match once.
