Why not David James, playing for Bristol City, currently doing his coaching badges, good influence for Joe Hart and the young players. Then after a year we can offer him a place on the coaching staff.

I'd rather not have his influence at the club, his lack of concentration and mental preparation is something we could do without.

Roberto Mancini is preparing a £2million bid for Stoke keeper Thomas Sorensen, as the Potters target Chris Kirkland as a ready-made replacement.

Manchester City want to offer Denmark international Sorensen a lucrative move to Eastlands, where he would be back-up to England's Joe Hart.

Mancini is keen to bring in another experienced No.2 after selling Shay Given to Aston Villa and believes the 35-year-old fits the bill.

Sorensen is ready to quit Stoke after losing his place to Asmir Begovic and the deal is expected to progress after their Europa League tie with Hajduk Split on Thursday.

I dont suppose they would take the likes of Bridge and Bellamy in exchange !

I love Jussi - he's my favourite player and I'd be gutted to see him go - but I wouldn't blame him for going to City if he had the chance. I'm just amazed you're (supposedly) in the running for him. You've got one of the best keepers in the country in Hart so I dunno why you'd want Jussi.

I think he'd leave us for the money, to be honest, and I say fair play to him.

I'd definitely accept a swap for Bellamy though!! Not sure on Bridge.

-- Thu Aug 04, 2011 2:30 am --

Im sorry but he won't come here to sit on the bench when he's playing week in week out at Bolton. Great keeper but he's not going to commit career suicide by becoming a back-up keeper

I think he would TBH, 36 years old and the possibility of a three year contract on double what Notlob would pay him

He's clearly not motivated by money - he could have gone to Barcelona, Milan, Madrid a good few years ago. I do think he'd be good to have on your coaching staff though if you did give him a contract.

No offence to Taylor but if Hart does get injured we're without a paddle. We could do a lot worse than Jaaskelainan or Sorenson, which out of those two i feel we would have a better chance of signing Sorenson seeing as Jussi starts for Bolton and Begovic is ahead of Soerson at Stoke.

Slated the club big style when he left us, so no, for me he can jog-on. besides he has family in the south so I doubt he would ever come back

Taylor is Carlo Nash.

Jussi would be a FANTASTIC replacement. We are lucky to have had Shay last year, having a very good back up is essential for a long season. He'd get games too i'd presume here and there
