Will they be calling him 14m pound Grealish every time he gets the ball at Everton? Will he go back to being the most fouled player in the league again?
Hope he does well in dark blue.

it isn’t mandatory so not sure how that equates to great business?

He will have 1 year left on his deal and will nearly be 31. No one is paying close to that
Yeah I am still hopeful there is something more to that buy clause. No way Vianna thought Everton will trigger that 50 million on him.

No ill will towards Grealish, he loved being here he just wasn't ever good enough.

Wish him well but it is a woeful resolution on our part. Completely kills any idea of us ever getting a fee for him, we will be forced into doing the same kind of deal again in 12 months time before releasing him.

Look elsewhere and you've got the dippers making back over £45m on a flop like Nunez. He'll never play for us again so we should be getting shut of him now and not still carrying the burden of completely writing off our record transfer over the next 2 seasons. When it comes to selling players, we are like a poorly run charity shop who just labels everything for sale at a flat rate without bothering to check the value of things they have for sale.
Much easier to sell players when they’re not on £300k a week…

Jack will view his time here as a roaring success. 3 PLs, a CL and a treble.

We should do the same.

Wish him well and let him crack on.
Totally agree

Jack has been far from a disaster. What I will say is each time he has started to show a bit of form he has picked up an injury.
Maybe that’s down to conditioning and looking after yourself.
But I for one think he has done ok.
Also, like Haaland, he sells shirts and attracts fans. So some of his fee would have been covered by that.

50m buy option as well.

This is really great business.
That could be £300m, if they're under no obligation, it's worthless. Why would Everton pay £50m for a player with 12 months left on his contract when they had him for a year on loan with 2 years left. The very inclusion of that, if true just makes us seem amateurish.

Option to buy is only ever a worthwhile clause for the team bringing in the player. it protects them against inflated prices if the player performs whilst with them, effectively punishing them for getting a tune out of a player. when they're included by the selling club, they're useless and nearly always are either passed on or are renegotiated.

I dont see a scenario where Everton are pushing for a clause that would allow them to buy grealish for £50m next year with 12 months left on his contract when they could have him for less now or get a cast iron obligation to buy in 12 months for less too which suggests it's city that have pushed for that if it is indeed accurate.

Decent move for him I reckon

He will get more game time, probably in his preferred role and they're not expected to win anything, so if they make a good improve to where they've been and hes a key player in the process, then it looks great for him..

Then they'll probably pony up 50m

I like the guy, cheeky brumie.....but I expected more and sometimes he gave it but only sometimes. He was a big fish in a small pond at Villa but not with us.....I don't think his shenanigans at the end of our quad did him any favours though. Wish him the best at Everton, unfortunately nothing to fear from him......other than relentless free kick on the left wing.

Yeah we ain’t getting anywhere near £50m.
The best we can hope for is Jack rips it up and that brings other clubs into the mix.
Then maybe we might get a maximum of £30m.
Those stupid wages are always going to be a limiting factor, add to that his age and contract length.
If it doesn’t work out at Everton I could see him leaving for free.

I know he has divided opinion, I’ve been on both sides of the fence myself but surely this now cements the opinion that he has been a poor signing?

29 years old (should be in his prime), bought for £100m just 4 years ago, poor G/A return over the 4 years and then ends up at Everton on loan.

We will always have that treble season (and some will say that cancels out all the negatives) but it’s a sorry state of affairs for our record signing.

I wish him all the best at Everton but this is not how it was supposed to go.
Football is littered with players who only shine brightly for a few seasons. Jack helped us to the treble so that’s good enough. Raheem was brilliant in the Centurions season. That was enough for me as well. I wish him well.
