For me there are others players ahead of him who should leave. He may not have been what people expected or hoped for but you know what he keeps the ball well and if we have the ball the opposition can’t score
I've always been a supporter of Jack, but the situation he finds himself in, he brought about himself.
I see no reason to keep a £100m player on very high wages on the bench, for the reason you've outlined. We need players who're pushing to start & who have a career at City ahead of them, not behind them.
The acquisition of RAN changes many, many things. Doku & RAN on the left will give opposition defences nightmares. Last season, teams negated a mostly isolated Jeremy by doubling/trebling up on him, whilst many (not me) lamented over him not producing miracles.
If we setup as we did during RAN's debut in the CWC, clubs can't effectively commit between 4-6 players to mark both Doku & RAN. This is why I don't see where a ball retaining, left wing playing Grealish fits in. He rarely attacks & beats his markers inside or outside to provide crosses/passes into the penalty box danger zones.
If we could achieve the same on the right flank as with RAN & Doku on the left, with the flamboyance of Cherki in the middle, the low block & rapid counters against our plodding midfield & defence will finally become more of a rarity, than the predictable occurrences they are now.
