Jadon Sancho

Jadon was still tracking back late in the game on Thursdat and it was already won. He has a good team attitude on top of his amazing skills.
I'm not doubting that he will add this to his skill set but this is big strong men he would be facing against Palace.
They would be smarter than what he's come up against so far too.

Navas offers a fair bit defensively which for all his skills Jadon could not yet match.
We have a realistic chance of going all the way in this competition and now is not the time to make reckless experiments.

Odd I never thought of Navas as a defender, to me he's just a winger who can't cross the ball or score a goal to save his life. He's pinching a living as a premiership footballer. Roberts is a better player yet his face didn't fit sadly. I don't think giving the he lad a spot on the bench or even 15 mins at the end of the game if we are three up would be reckless. But it's all opinions. Sometimes I just think our club don't give the young players a chance they deserve, a manager will play the player the club has spent a fortune on even if he clearly isn't working out, rather than youth. Pellers certainly did with Bony and others, it concerns me that Pep might follow suit. But I agree it's early days and too early to judge.

He'll be gone at the end of the season but he is a terrier at tracking back. He makes the odd cock up like most forwards do but he's above average at tracking back. He's pinching a living as a premiership footballer.
He's not the player he was but he's had a great career for a little, homesick guy who scores few goals. Ask to see his medals :) Roberts is a better player yet his face didn't fit sadly.
You seem only to see the highlights of a performance not the whole of it or you would know why Roberts is currently on loan. Doing well though and may work his way into our squad but competition is fierce in his position.

Who recently has excelled who we never gave a chance to?
Lopes, Rekik, Denayer, Roman, Pozo, Boyata and Nedum have all not reached the high expectations we once had for them. Suarez, Sturridge and Schmeichel all wanted to go.
Mee and Trippier have done well but would not be long term starters with us.

The odd cock up? Surely you must be thinking of a different player. He has no end product whatsoever. He isn't a defender his main job is to put crosses into the box and score goals and in both those respects he is bloody woeful. He isn't in the team to solely track back, I very much doubt he could get in any other top six pl side.

I think pellers was particularly bad at sticking with the same players last season when we had better options such as continually playing Bony instead of Kelechi. And then after the kids did well at the back against Chelsea in the cup , we never saw them again despite Demechellis and kolorov being the main culprits in conceeding our goals. Adarybiyo looks good but he hasn't been given a chance and his contract expires this summer. Pep preferred to stick with the slow kolorov who has one good game every three. Kelechi didn't get a real run or chance when aguero was suspended recently . One poor game and he wasn't even on bench for add puts. pep even chose to not play a striker several tmes when aguero wasn't available and that didn't really work as we were scoring much from midfield. Sure Kelechi needs to improve but he won't do that not playing and his goal ratio is brilliant, he's a great prospect he needs game time. But his chances will be even more limited now Jesus has arrived.

What a cracking goal! And he just seems to glide past players with ease. Exciting prospect.

To the people who watch the youth teams regulary. Is he our most likely prospect to play first team football. More likely than brahim? Tosin?
Our youngsters get rated very highly, and for good reason. But realistically we are aiming to be the best team in the world so unless these youngsters are world class, theyre not going to make it with us.
I dont get to watch the youth team due to location, so keep up the good work on the updates

Obviously nothing is certain, but if he keeps progressing at his current rate then i would think, along with Foden and Brahim(and one or two others from the incredible u18's) his opportunity will come in the not too distant future.

At 16,he has to be one of the very best prospects in world football.

He's making a very good case of being the best 16 year old in world football at the moment. Originally I would have said that Brahim had the best chance of playing regular first team football but Sancho has come on so much this season that it has become a toss up between the 2. Part of me is expecting him to make his debut this season he's been that good but we have to remember he's still 16. He's too good for the U18's and he's usually one of the best players on the pitch in the U23's (Same goes for Diaz), at his current rate of development he might want more regular first team appearances by next season. Like the poster mentions above Sancho, Foden and Brahim are the most likely to play first team football from the U18's, I think Muric and Latibeaudiere will also have a good chance.

Also keep an eye on City's twitter/facebook, they livestream a lot of the U18 home matches nowadays.

I see Hazard as just a shit Sancho to be honest.

Seriously there's not much difference in their game in that they bring the ball to the box and wallop in a generally on target powerful shot. Not much elaborate playmaking so its basic enough. That's why I think he could be ready a lot sooner than Diaz or Foden.

Obviously Hazard has loads of experience and is solid enough to handle regular Prem pushing, shoving, manhandling, etc. So I know they are not on a par .....yet :-).

Watched the last few live feeds on FB and Sancho is thriving in what to be fair is a fantastically talented bunch of players, no real weak areas. Sanchos workrate is phenomenal & currently he is even overshadowing Diaz, he has that arrogance of youth, a bit of steel about him & prepared to try stuff, would be amazed if we didn't see him on the 1st team bench as a reward, don't think he'd play though unless we were 3/4 up

Future is bright & blue without doubt

Everyone usually focuses on the forwards for youth team players making it at any club but I'd add Angus Gunn in to the mix. He turned 21 just a fortnight ago and I can see him being our 2nd goalie next season and playing the domestic cup games.

If you want to make comparisons,i'd say Sancho is very much in the Bale mould.Brahim is much more similar in style to Hazard.

Sancho is Neymar like technically, with Bale's physique. He will 100% play for our first team at some point. How far he goes then, as ever, depends on ten billion factors including how many chances he gets, or doesn't... there's only so much he can do as a kid. If we fuck it up with foden, sancho and Brahim then we're useless tbh.
