Jadon Sancho

I think if they are 'tapping' him up we will go all out to ruin them.
They may even get Sancho (if that's their aim) as he could well be tempted to go 'home'. However we will be so aggressive in our transfer dealings, whether it be their players, or players they are interested in, that they will rue the day they crossed us.
Mbappe might be on their wish list, but we would definitely offer top dollar and huge wages to make them pay a ridiculous price, regardless of whether we are all out for him.
It's a dangerous game playing 'transfer poker' with a very wealthy organisation, who will stop at nothing to be a major player in world football.
Sancho himself has stated that he left London due to bad influences around him (perhaps he knew Jack Wilshere?) so I can't see him (or his parents) wanting to jump right back in to it.

He needs game time, he looks good enough to come on as a sub against Huddersfield. But he is not even getting on the bench. Must be disheartening seeing the useless Navas getting in the team.

They are trying to get him now before he signs his first professional contract at 17. He'll be cheap and he's obviously a great talent. Nothing to do with playing time and he isn't going to be starting in the Arsenal first team either.

Arsenal won't be the only club flashing their knickers at him, I would guess all the major teams would let him know via his representatives that they would like him to sign his first pro deal with them. He won't be the only player either, Foden and a few others are still 16 so clubs will be in contact with them as well. We take players off other clubs so we can't complain, it's up to us to provide the players with the opportunities they want and need.

The only reason I could see him go to Arsenal is because he'll get more first team chances. It's really weird that he hasn't even been on the bench this season. Every time I watch him he stands out and imo he's definitely ready for some apperances from the bench. At Arsenal he would be challenging with Iwobi who isn't that good compared to Sane. Really hope that Pep gives him a chance soon.

There is absolutely no good reason why he would go Arsenal at this stage of his career.

He knows how highly rated he is within the organisation, money will be no problem, he'll get excellent coaching especially when he joins the first team squad regularly for training sessions and is currently playing with several talented lads of similar age group so he doesn't have the pressure of being the targeted player that opponents want to kick off the park in every game.
The decision to come up North was his and his family's to enable him to concentrate on his career with no hassle from bad influences where he grew up.

Of course he will get pissed off if he never gets close to the first team in a year or two's time but now is not the time for him to consider leaving.

These rumours are undoubtably based on truth, as every club in the country will want Sancho, but any of us could write a similar piece without even researching it & be more or less correct. All the clubs will be sniffing around all of our best young players. It's what they do. It's unlikely he'll go anywhere.

I don't think there is CURRENTLY any problem whatsoever with Sancho 'not getting game time' or Diaz, or any of the younger kids, they haven't really been ready for it, they are/were too young & have no real argument they merit it, 'yet'.

The problem is the fact that most of the older kids in their position, have resisted any poaching, stayed at the club & been 'rewarded' by not even getting a sniff of the first team when many did, absolutely, merit it. The 'new' academy, has been open a few years now, so kids & their parents have actual history & timelines, to judge how other kids were treated by the club & whether continuing with City is the best option for them.

I think it is, because I believe (perhaps misguidedly but we'll see) that Pep is a vastly different animal to Pellegrini & that he will be actively trying to get as many kids as possible, onto the pitch in the first team. He has to balance it with prioritising success, but he will try, I believe.

If it doesn't happen though, we will lose a lot of the best kids to our rivals, some at 16 & some won't even sign in the first place. The next few years will decide whether our academy succeeds or is overtaken by our rivals, who are all frantic about catching us & WILL play the best kids in their teams, even if it's only for 20 mins.

I have been going to 'kids' games & training sessions on & off since I was younger than most kids at the club, & Pellegrini's reign has more or less finished me with it. I've never in all those years, seen such a wealth of potential talent squandered & mishandled & I've seen my arse with it, so I'll go just a few times a season now, until I see proof I'm not wasting my time.

If I feel like that, then there is a decent chance at least some parents & advisors have a similar feeling.

There's a lot of truth in what you've written.

Other clubs will undoubtedly be sniffing around, just like we will do with their talented youngsters - it's simply part of the game. I think and hope he will stay as we now have Pep who has a brilliant record with young players. However, we can't pretend the previous years under Pellers didn't occur when we essentially fucked a bunch of prospects by cold shouldering them from the first team, and until pep proves otherwise that bit of anxiety may remain until we see someone actually come through. Plus Arsenal do have a very good history of bringing through players, that can't be denied.

I think he'll stay though, and I think Pep is the absolute best person to make these youngsters into stars.

I agree.

There is nobody better to learn from than Guardiola. If we can just get the first one through, it will start an avalanche, I'm convinced of it. We just need to make that connection happen.

Nev.
I agree it's a great pity that we did very little with the kids under Pelle but as I remember it Mancini was equally at fault?

I know he gave a few a game in the League Cup but the nepotism he inflicted on the youth teams was awful (2 sons and Scapuzzi plus Lombardo as coach. All totally unfit for purpose).
We have the constant dilemma of blooding youth versus winning now at senior level.
A Manager is damned whatever he does so it seems?

Mancini was fucking shocking in that area imo. He did try a few kids here & there but he didn't give a shit about them & the way he treated Boyata (throwing him into big games, dropping him for months then throwing him back in again) was like deliberate sabotage.

I think the club big bosses & owner have always been 100% genuine about bringing through young players & once Mancini went, Pellegrini made sure to be seen watching the kids' team & I thought we were in business. Then he played Ronny Lopes in the Cup Semi, who was excellent & I just expected it to continue & increase.

Instead, like Mancini, he just used kids as sand bags.

If he is disheartened at not getting game time at his age ,then he has a problem. He is 16. If he gets his head down, keeps off social media, improves his decision making, plays for 90 minutes then he will get his chances.

Alternatively if you are Navas and play shit every game you still get game time.

Navas has played about 90 minutes in the last 10 league games FFS, how can people still be fucking complaining about him. He's a squad player, he does a job, well most of the time, and he's 100x more suitable than a 16 year old who's never played a professional game in pretty much every single conceivable scenario.

On top of that, he's fucking leaving in June. He and Sancho have absolutely 0 effect on each others careers.

He doesn't do a job ffs. He is fucking useless and shouldn't be in the side. If you think he is good enough for our side you need to give your head a wobble. He ain't good enough for any side that has aspirations to finish in the top half of the prem. But he still gets more chances than our best youngsters. Bizzare
