Jadon Sancho

Sancho left because he wasn’t going to get game time ahead of Raz, Sane or Bernie. Because he wasn’t as good as them.

Despite his performances for Dortmund, he still wouldn’t be getting game time for us ahead of Raz, Sane and Bernie. Because he still isn’t as good as them.

It’s part and parcel of what City are now - a club with superb, world class players in most positions. If players back themselves - like Foden and Zinchenko - great. If they think, ‘I need game time NOW’ and leave- good luck to them.

The clubs vision was to provide players for the first team from the academy on a regular basis, don't think it's changed.

So you don’t think income of around £70 million (I think that’s right) of sales from Academy products is a significant amount of revenue?

OK.

That's exactly what I said significant revenue streams and not just to find first team players...

Agree with you totally but it only takes one potentially bad decision on either selling or buying & £70m all of a sudden dozen't seem a lot of money

You say the same thing as I do about Zinchenko. Here we have a young player who may not have the full set of tricks that Sancho might have but the lad knows that and has done his very best to improve his game and prove his adaptability and in my mind could fill any position down the left side touchline. He is prepared to fight for a place and yet there are no sulks if he is overlooked.

If Sancho had stayed and fought for a place and went out to prove his adaptability then we would have had a hell of a player, but he didn't or he wouldn't so unfortunate it may be but it's probably better that we no longer have him sulking away behind the scenes.
