James McAtee

The big problem facing all these youngsters is that Pep utilises as little players as possible.
He invariably puts out as good a team as he can from a small base of players.
There are a bunch of younger players who are not at the top level yet but would make good squad back up with a good chance of breaking into the top group of players given time.
It looks like Savio, Couto and Evecherri are Girona bound.
Harwood Bellis, the 2 Doyles, McAtee, Kabore, Delap will be sold or loaned out again.
At the same time, we have Nunes and Gomes getting little or no game time.
Along as Pep is here, the Lavias and Palmers will not get any decent run.
Its one of the reasons Pep is so successful and he ain't gonna change his ways.
I'm guessing there is an ex or on loan City player at nearly every club in the premier league barring Liverpool.
Yet Foden, Lewis, and now Bobb suggest that it’s not all one-way traffic. If the management can convince players such as McAtee that there is an opportunity if they stay and apply themselves, then it might yet work. However, the case for convincing them might be made easier if we don’t have young players on the bench who rarely ever play and don’t then spend lavishly on others who rarely ever play.

Exactly.
Lampard was praising our academy yesterday.
It is very tough but even one player each season added to the squad would be brilliant.
They might not make it but there is a very lucrative stepping stone.
Brahim and Jaden Sancho in champions league semi finals and 7 or 8 currently in championship play off spots.

Heard Lampard saying how good our youth development is re: Palmer and Sancho and Danny Murphy was complimentary on Match of the day , referring to Morgan Rogers.
Our players seem much sought after so makes it more odd that we don't hold onto a few more.
Think it’s really difficult currently for them to break through. Foden is special and Rico was needed but has proven he is a brilliant footballer. I’d like to see more players from the academy but can’t see it currently. Would be good to bring some back though.

I think Leicester would be an incredibly risky move - going from one promoted team who have struggled massively to another who could potentially do the same.
