James Milner

His effort that hit the underside of the bar was magnificent. Great game today for Jimmy. Long may it continue.

Keys was seething at that comment.
Good.

In prevuous seasons team spirit has not really been there, but get the feeling that there is a real togetherness about this City squad which helps in tight games like this

That's something whioch some of the critics said the "City mercenaries" would lack. Maybe all the criticism from all angles is working in our favour

Mancini got it wrong today. We've been crying out to get AJ and Silva on the pitch together and get Milner in the middle, thankfully he did it just in time to win the game (undeservedly) and Mancini has to be given credit for that but Yaya's injury should have made things easier not harder. Barry and De Jong as basically a middle 2 should never happen ever again.

Milner played very well today though, better than he has recently but he can play better. I hope Mancini gets him in the middle soon so AJ and Silva can play in the same side.

Just bumped this thread because... I can't make my mind up on him.

At times he looks great, other times he looks like he doesn't fit our shape. I know I shouldn't really judge him on todays game but IMO he should have been taken off before Yaya, even Barry should have been taken off before Yaya.

He seems very skillful, with a good touch, fantastic cross but terrible pace for a wide man, he would be better more centrally.

Maybe he's still settling in, but pricewise is not a match on Silva who is really looking the business now.

I'm getting more and more impressed with this guy..

I must admit I wasn't massively keen for us to sign him in the first place, but I thought he played really well today, Did a hell of a lot of work today, Hit the bar with a cracking effort, fantastic last ditch tackle in the penalty area in which he took a hell of a blow and helped Bridge out no end with his tracking back.

I was also very impressed with the way he comes out for the interviews post match, and loved the way he upset Sky by calling them and other journalists 'You lot' when they were obviously trying to get him to slag off Adebayors poor showing.

Whats staggers me is the fact he is still only 24, could go on to be a great player for us for a long long time to come

Well played fella

James Milner was great against liverpool but in my opinion has gone backwards since

i dont see at the moment why we signed him like you im not sure just what he gives the team ok he tracks back but seems so unfit every time ive seen him .he is a clone of gareth barry they run like they have chewing gum on there boots ! seriously though we played well today and we should be proud of all the players good or bad because they tried and being a blue thats what we like to see.
