Could be a masterstroke, could be a step too far for him, it's a bit up in the air right now as to which it will be but the beauty of him coming in as a number 2 initially is that we will get to find out without over-commiting. Does his stint this year as backup, will still get a decent number of games and he's there and ready if ederson picks up injuries, show that hes ready to step up when he does play and hes got well over a decade to look forward to here if all goes to plan.

Look forward to the calls for him to be number 1 right now every single time we concede a goal, that will be fun...

I love this signing! Welcome back home James! One of the best young keepers in Europe as well.

I’d kind of become disillusioned with the academy and the lack of a clear pathway to regular first team football, so this signing is a massive boost to our young players.

Hopefully he’ll go onto be our keeper for the next ten years

At the very least, we’ve managed to replace an overseas backup goalkeeper with a club-trained one. At best, we’ve just bought our first choice goalkeeper for the next ten years. Hope it’s the latter.
